[FFXI]The xp fairy
Now, being a 60+ melee isn't an easy life, specially in the times where the sea of people seeking are black mages and blue mages... Which explains that I spent an ungodly amount of time seeking on dragoon. Two days combined would have totaled around 12 hours of seeking. Mind you, I do things outside game while seeking so it isn't really an issue but it becomes fairly draining.
However, I did start to solo some colibri as I waited to be chosen. Since polearms do have that piercing bonus it helped alot and I just killed them with some effort but not enough to make it extremely tiring. Per bird I was getting between 70-100 xp and after a few hours I was able to get the 5k or so that I needed to level.
Now I finally get to equip my assault jerkin and my future rutter sabatons. Unfortunately I'm now 0/3 on them, the last try being yesterday where I trioed the NM with Mintay, Alynda, and myself. BRD RDM NIN. The fight was easy but he decided on being a meanie and AoE when we needed to get close to buff.
Luckily I ended up getting a party for drg within 10 minutes yesterday. Ended up getting through half my level!
The thief was hard to keep up TP with in the sense that his gear was superior than the mix of mine and loaned gear. The dark knight was /sam so he was a TP machine as well but was being hard on the poor pld tank so he ended up dying once because he ended up "tanking".
The pld died once merely from crawler attacks as well. I ended up d/c'ing once too because my power blipped.
Overall though, solid party and I gained some respect for blue mages as support role jobs. The the right spells they act better than summoners!
The white mage that replaced the blu was abit of a ditz though. Died enroute to camp and was the main cause in the dark knight dying. Fortunately (or unfortunately) the red mage had to go pick up children from school so the party ended up disbanding.
Later on Alynda and I went into the jungles to try out some different jobs. I went back to Samurai and Alynda was our token bard. Our leader was a new player, red mage, who took the comments of a mentor over mine or Alynda's. It ended up getting complicated when our one member left and they ended up asking more than one person to party... oh well. We both powered out two levels so it was alright. I was the puller and the tank most of the time even without provoking. :(
Luckily the one person came with a rdm pl.. in relic body... wearing Ohat. It makes me so mad. Why not wear AF hat with the relic body? Fast cast = <3 Oh well, maybe someday.
