Hoo boy, graduation
Everyone!
My senior recital will be at 3 o'clock in the PM on the previously announced date of Saturday, June 4th. The recital will take place at the Voxman Music building, Voxman Hall (I think, anyway...this is what I was told by my teacher, but now I'm not actually sure if there is a Voxman Hall because she might have meant something else) and I plan on having signs pointing where to go. My party will take place a bit afterward at my house (2710 E Court St) at 5:30. All of you (even those of you I may not know all that well) are welcome to attend and attendence is strongly encouraged. The food will be quite delicious.
On another note-
This weekend was quite amazing, although playing two weddings in one day is not recommended. Please...those of you who think you might get married at some point in your lives-don't pick ridiculously tacky music that the musicians have to arrange themselves for your damn wedding unless you're paying them very well. I suppose I can't complain as I DID get paid very well.
Arie Hovencamp's birthday party was great fun. A huge mess of City High grads of all kinds were there...I loved seeing them and it makes me miss being an underclassmen back in the days when they were still at City. I hope someone will feel that way about me when my class and I leave. I ran into about half of sophmore year's viola section and we had a reunion on Arie's porch. It was good stuff...I'm the only one still playing.
According to this one guy I met in Cedar Falls, all Iowa City kids have a this aura of smug superiority about them that he says we deserve. He says we're innately cool. I was not previously aware of this ability of innate coolness...but hey Iowa City kids, good work.
That's all I've got for now...this is shaping up to be a good spring.
