....Disc 3 is such a depressing thing to watch. It is. My favorite bit is Ueda's, but that's no surprise. I'm generally happy just to hear his voice and he was so cute then. I loved that hair. It provided the perfect contrast to his tension or energy... whatever you want to call it.
But anyway, more than his appearance, I like what he had to say the most. Kamenashi lacked warmth. Akanishi was one big dose of foreshadowing, and so.... apathetic. He never could be bothered to give a shit about anyone else, but wanted fans to support him for being himself. Yeah. I'll get right on that.
He was hot in 47 Ronin though... I'll just never have it in me to really care about what he's doing. I care more about Meisa.
Taguchi's reflections on their group fighting and idk, progressing in general, just seemed sort of sad to me. Maybe I'd feel differently if things had gone differently. But they didn't, and I didn't get any warm or fuzzy feelings. I just felt cold. I do somehow find it alluring that he got into physical fights with the other members. I knew they didn't mesh well and had rocky beginnings, but I'm not really well informed about it, and I just didn't picture him as the kind to join the scuffle. But he was! So that's cute, for a younger man. I'm not sure I would feel the same way if they were physically fighting now (which they said they weren't by 2009). I think I'd be afraid of them, if they were still violent with each other.
For some reason, Koki got to remind us how he hated all of the others in the beginning. That was fun and necessary. Oh, and it was hurtful how they edited Akanishi and Koki together towards the end. Akanishi started by saying how he speaks formally with Koki and Nakamaru, and that he'd recently run into Koki in Shibuya, and that they'd just said hello and continued on their own ways. That story is directly followed by Koki saying that he and Akanishi went to karaoke together and sang Kinki Kids or something, and he joked that it wasn't a song the two of them should do-- and it was SO obvious that Jin was implying they aren't close, let alone friends, and Koki's story was contradicting that, making it seem like the two did things together.
It made Koki look stupid. I didn't appreciate it.
So yeah, it was neat to see the different concert elements and stage arrangements throughout their tour... I really liked seeing how they tweaked their performances, how they altered the sets, and why they made the choices they did. That was neat. I just wish they looked like they were enjoying themselves more.
