Another busy week flies by

In the end, Juan did end up coming last Thursday. So far the week has gone smoothly, although he speaks very little English, less than my mom was lead to believe, actually. Roger would be right. My mom is one of those horribly hard to argue with types (ie do it my way or get out types). I do tell her that I don't like to be called so many times per day, or that I am busy but she does it anyway. She stops calling me for a while, then she goes right back to doing it again, even though she can tell that I'm really annoyed on the phone. Her stance would be I'm home, so obviously I'm not doing anything of importance or that I could spare a few minutes to talk.

The only way to probably get over this would be to make myself unavailable via a second job. Though she'd probably still call, and my reply would probably be "Are you trying to get me fired???

I thought my mom was bad when she called me once a day. Man, you never know how good you have it sometimes.

But seriously, this sounds like a trend that needs to be bucked immediately, especially if you feel it will hinder any attempts at doing your job in the near future. I don't think I would know precisely what to say and how to say it, but try giving her an updated version of whatever you did to prevent her from calling you before. Try to make it very clear, concise, and serious.

Of course, there's also the option of destroying the phone lines. :P
