Finally the heatwave is over and temperatures are relatively normal. Or at the very least it's no-longer dangerously hot and humid. I think I might even be able to sleep in my own room tonight. It never ceases to blow my mind though, on the hottest days of the year we get the most hours at UPS but as soon as the weather cools down, they're back to getting rid of hourly workers anyway they can. Actually the explanation is simple, no one comes to work on hot weather days, those unfortunate enough to show up have to pick up the slack. At least I'll have a good looking check come next week.
For some reason I'd forgotten that this was the week that BLEACH: Memories of Nobody, aka the first BLEACH movie made a limited showing in theaters. I should have taken a personal day at work to see the movie, but I figured it would be bad form so soon after a vacation. It's probably too late to get tickets, even if I could get the day off for tomorrow's showing. While it would have been awesome to see the movie on the big screen I'm content that I already saw it back in September. I might snag the DVD when it's released here but I haven't fully made up my mind yet.
Lastly, I've shifted my gaming habits and now I'm giving The World Ends With You a rest and I've picked up Crisis Core again. With The World I can save my game, turn off the DS and some of my stats will continue to grow as long as I pick up the game within seven days. Now, Crisis Core has been an endless source of both addiction and frustration. It's frustrating because I hate how random stat growth is and the need to grind levels has been done away with. (I actually don't mind doing this too much to buff up my characters.) Sure the game is coming along easily in story mode but doing those optional missions is quite a pain at times.
On the upside the parts of Crisis Core that do overlap with the original Final Fantasy VII story (the incident at the Mako reactor but now told from Zack's point of view instead of Cloud's) have not been altered and have gone into the depth that I was looking for, unlike the Last Order anime. I'm getting the feeling that I'm nearing the end of the game, so as much as I hate them I'll probably return to doing more missions.
