Last week was one of those typically busy weeks. I finished my assignments okay for the most part, but yeah I hate being that busy and stressed out.
Classes this week were a mixed bag. The beginning of the week was definitely stressful. I got through my quiz for Women's Self Defense easy enough, so that wasn't a problem. I can't say the same for MURL, in fact I'm getting tired of complaining about the class but there's always some new reason to complain. Remember that assignment due on Friday? It turns out that not only was the prompt purposely vague (it was supposed to grant us maximum creativity) but our professors decided not to clarify the assignment until three days before it was due. Luckily I had already collected a number of interviews, but to have more work dropped on us was annoying. Why? If this was a full-time job, this would be required, but still in college with other assignments due and part-time jobs to work, this feels a bit unreasonable. Is it reasonable to expect professors to give college students similar work load as a reporter working full-time from 9 to 5 every day? Or maybe it's just us, I don't know. I managed to get the assignment done on time but it felt like I turned in a total piece of crap.
My exam in Sacred Space on Thursday went okay. I finished the series of essays ten minutes before we ran out of time to do them. I almost completely filled up the blue booklet with writing and hopefully my responses were on target. Given all that I had to do during the week, I did the best I could.
Friday was pretty much spent writing up the article that was due for MURL. Like I said, the work felt pretty crappy but I'd rather have had something done rather than nothing at all come deadline time. My original article was about 1,700 words long, but the maximum was supposed to be 900. I managed to cut it down to 935, although it didn't feel like a feature story anymore. Though it would have helped if the professors told us the general gist of the article *before* Tuesday. They gave us Thursday off in order to report, but by that time I'd already done my reporting on Monday and I didn't have the time to go back out and ask people all over again. Actually, come to think of it, Thursday was the best class ever.
Saturday was spent cleaning and having my friend Aaron help out with house repairs. The entire day left me pretty tired and I ended up sleeping through TBL Chat. I woke up in time to catch Blood+ at 1:30am and a few other shows on Adult Swim. I think I want to try and get my sleeping schedule back in order so I don't miss another week of TBL Chat.
As for today, I have homework to finish and I'm being bothered by Mark's friend to trade Pokemon with him on the DS. (Not to mention I still have laundry to do and I just finished cooking. Geez.) Mark asked earlier to borrow my DS to battle him, but I completely refused remember the sorry state of my GBA.
Anyway, I'm off to do dishes and trade Pokemon.
