Christmas is just about over, but all and all, it turned out to be pretty good. My mother, Mark and I all went out to IHOP for breakfast, visited my mother's friend, then returned home. We opened up a few presents between cooking and cleaning for Christmas dinner. The dinner went pretty well, despite the fact that a lot of our guests didn't show up. In the end it was just one of my aunts, my mom's boyfriend, Mark's friend, Mark, my mother and me. We did make enough food for a decent sized dinner, so we now have more than we can eat. It's tad disappointing that no one bothers to show up for dinner at our house, compared with dinner at Grandma's or even my aunt's house (not the one who showed up tonight).
As for holiday stuff, some people complained in the past about pictures, so I won't be sharing any this year, unless someone wants to see what I got. I'll just highlight some of the more interesting stuff as well. First of all, I took advantage of the holiday deals to buy myself a PSP Daxter bundle pack. I got it online for a fairly good deal. It came with a silver PSP lite (it is MUCH lighter than the original PSP), Daxter, Family Guy: The Freakin' Sweet Collection UMD (five of Family Guy's best episodes from the past in my opinion) and a one gig memory card. I didn't get a strap, USB cable, headphones, a protective slip case or the TV output cables. All of those have to be brought separately and I'm going to start with a protective pouch, screen protection and a USB cable (this PSP can charge its battery though USB as well).
I also got a new digital camera. It was a fairly decent upgrade to the Kodak EasyShare that I brought in mid 2004. This one is a Kodak EasyShare ZD710, which honestly reminds me of a miniature version of a professional camera. It has 7.1 megapixels and 10X zoom, as well a variety of features that I will be trying out over the next few days. One of my favorite features is the ability to capture clear photos in almost no surrounding light. My old EasyShare was terrible in dark settings even with flash. I got got a 2 gig memory card, a rechargeable battery pack and a carrying case to go with it. (Everything was brought together on Black Friday for some amazing deals.)
One of my favorite non-tech gifts was the under shirt and pajama bottom pants. I have to admit I'm getting sick of wearing sweat pants to bed, so the pajamas are a nice change of pace. As for the undershirt, I've wanted one for a while and I'm content with it. I also got Family Guy season one (old I know but still fun to watch) on DVD. I also like Mark's gift to me, an M&M's teddy bear holding a bag of M&M's. Edible gifts are always fun, unless it's fruitcake.
These were among my favorite gifts and I enjoyed giving out gifts more than I did receiving them. Especially gifts for my mom, which she seemed to like a lot.
I hope everyone else had a good Christmas in all aspects of the holiday.
