I can't remember the last time that I simply yearned for the chance to sleep in. That's right, sleep in. Oh, and a side of free time spent at home would be nice too. For the last week I've not had much time to sit down and think clearly without some pressing issue nagging me. Friday and Saturday were spent looking at cars, Sunday was spent doing chores, Monday was spent at the bank and insurance company, Tuesday was a near full school day and yesterday was spent at the car dealer waiting for my broken oil dipstick to be replaced. Naturally, nothing comes quickly, so I was at the dealership for five hours while the car was worked on. Did I mention that the oil dipstick only needed to be replaced?
No problem, I'll just make up for the lost time over the weekend. Oh wait, the car now leaks oil and must be taken back to the dealer on Saturday. (A botched repair and I haven't even had the car a week yet, though I'm feeling forgiving as the mechanic was rushed so I wouldn't miss work.) There goes a good portion of my day. I think I'll keep my fingers crossed for a Labor Day holiday that's relaxing, since Sunday is already going to be a busy day with family affairs.
Today is already off to a frustrating start, as the professor didn't show up for our 8:40 class. It would have been nice if he sent out an e-mail letting us know that class was cancelled. I could have slept in today since my next class isn't until 1 this afternoon.
I'm still hoping for that refreshing Labor Day. The lack of homework has left me bored and feeling stranded on campus, among other recent events. Otherwise, this week would be off to an awesome start with the lack of school work.
And I'm torn between checking out a journalism student event on Campus and writing up that return to New York City entry. Maybe I should be a good journalism student and go to the event...
