Well they got the guest star for the first episode of the season, although they have definitely had bigger stars in the past. This wasn't a bad episode, adn it probably worked for a season premiere, but there were a lot of questions that weren't answered which made the whole thing a little unsatisfying.
Joan Cusack looks a lot younger underwater! Of course that could be a combination of gravity and the pressure from the water. The dynamic with the daughter was a little odd. It was like the whole thing was too much effort for her but then she wanted this to be her life
MacKenzie was certainly calm about running away, practising piano like normal so her mother wouldn't suspect anything. Although I don't know why she bothered locking her in the bathroom, unless it was to give herself more time in case the mother got out
I find it kind of surprising that the Burtons would have been able to adopt a child if their own had disappeared, especially as the case was never solved. Surely there would have been other couples available to adopt. Plus of course the mother is a little insane, never letting Mackenzie out of her sight, which you think a psychologist might have had concerns about.
For Mackenzie to come up with a plan to run away with Eddy D there must have been other times where she wasn't being monitered as closely as Pamela would have liked
Even with all the detectives there there were very lucky they were able to find Mackenzie considering the size of Grand Central. Although they couldn't have seriously thought they the trains would be shut down for them?
Considering what happened to eric it's no wonder men won't help children anymore :(
Why didn't they insist on interviewing Mackenzie without Pamela? They were never going to get the truth out of her whilst her mother was around :( Of course it's amazing Pamela is still married considering her fear of all men
Ok so initially what Mackenzie was saying sounded kind of suss, but when she starting saying how she could beat Eddy D they should have realised that she was talking about another child
You have to wonder why there is such a big difference between the people who foster kids and people who adopt them? I loved that they thought Eddy D was going to be this big horrible man and instead they got Wesley, a weedy little boy! But it was so sad that the adults wouldn't let the kids be friends anymore :(
She arrested him, accused him of being a paedophile, brought up painful stuff about his family history and yet he asks Olilvia out on a date?Seriously she's not that hot and it's not as thought he really got to see her wonderful personality :(
I loved Mackenzie's apology to Cragen, she obviously didn't care and Cragen could see it. Seemed to satisfy the parents thought.
It doesn't seem to good that a social worker only visited the Burtons because Cragen set up the visit after Olivia found Mackenzie's notes. Surely it should have automatically happened when there was a runaway adoptee.
I know that people get upset over the idea of putting chips in people and that the technology is being developed but I didn't realilse it was possible yet. For starters I wouldn't think many places would have the scanners needed to read the chips.
They never really finished addressing why Mackenzie looked so much like Ella. The excuse about the clothing was pretty weak, they weren't exactly a family that needed to rely on hand me downs and they never explained the hair. Plus of course there was Pamela's slip where she said Ella instead of Mackenzie
When I first saw the father I thought it was Michael J Fox, but obviously not. Ok surely if the sheriff suspected Pamela was behind Ella's disappearance that would have been raised during the adoption process?
Ok Pamela went a little more crazy that usual when Elliot started questioning her about Ella's disappearance.
The photographer was a suspect in Ella's disappearance. Wouldn't they have looked through all his stuff and found the picture of the girl in green and orange ratherthan just the stuff her provided? Anything he had that was incriminating he obviously wouldn't have handed over.
You would think that considering Darla's line of work she would be a little better at lying.
Ok here was something else they never explained properly. Why did Darla's dad kidnap at 11yr old to be his wife??
When they found Ella and she asked about her husband I thought it was going to be a stockholm syndrome case but thankfully it wasn't. She seemed happy to be home and Mackenzie seemed to think everything was going to be ok but I get the feeling that Ella is always going to be the favoured child :(
