CI-The Mobster Will See You Now

I loved the name of this episode, very punny! The idea of the episode was good, although there was no mystery to it, you knew from the beginning exactly what had happened. But I suppose the mystery was whether the detectives were going to discover what really happened, rather than what had happened.

Well the hospital investors certainly were a cliche of Italian mobsters in New York, except for maybe the younger ringleader. I liked the idea of him trying to convince them all this the whole investment had to be above board and legitimate

Tarny was obviously a corrupt official, which they discovered throughout the investigation. I wonder if that resulted in HHS going back through his files and previous investigations or whether the refused to speak ill of the dead and left everything the way it was. But surely if he was asking this hospital for $3 million he would have asked for money for other organisations

A little unusual that we saw none of the actaul murder taking place, except for the aftermath of one of the mobsters being taken to hospital after a heart attack

When they thought that Tarney's death was accidental. Rodgers believed that the mark across his stomach was from him attempting to perform the heimlich on himself, But if he had been murdered what was it?

The explaination for MCS being brought in was pretty poor. The girlfriend had kicked up a fuss and insisted it wasn't an accident which might have resulted in detectives being brought in, but unless someone in HHS had pulled some strings I didn't think that a nurse would have had sufficient pull

I loved the look on Rodgers face when she realised that Nichols and Stevens didn't want her to rule it an accident yet!

It was good that they called the receptionist on not being remotely upset at Tarney's death. Although I was surprised at just how honest she was about her feelings about him. Lucky that she didn't end up a suspect however

I guess the girlfriend was a potential suspect, although the DA went after her far too quickly. The engaged to be engaged thing was of course pretty desparate and whilst she had provided him with the medication, she still needed to be able to take him down. Not to mention if she gave an alibi you would think that they would have checked that out before arraigning her

The girlfriend committing suicide was pretty intense and whilst Nichols and Stevens were upset by it, I would have liked a little more focus on it, besides the short confrontation between Nichols and the DA

You would think that someone who committed medicade fraud, helped a partner hide a gambling problem and let mobsters invest in your hospital would be a little bit more capable when talking to the police! Well at least his partner is able to stay a bit cooler

I wonder if there was a legitimate way that Tarney was going to hit it big for his girlfriend, or whether it had to be a bribe? It was good that he had been bragging about it, because it definitely gave the detectives a lead

When the doctor dropped him watch under the desk, I thought that he was going to get up and find someone watching him, either the detectives or one of the mobsters, the listening device was kind of unexpected. On the plus side it meant that he finally grew a spine and tried to get himself out of this whole mess.

They never did seem to decide who had beaten up the doctor, whether it was just some random thugs who were scared off by the panic alarm on the car, or whether it was someone hired by the mobsters to scare him and they took his wallet to make it look like a mugging?

Wonder if the doctor ever did get the protection he asked for? Or maybe he didn't need it in the end because Henry confessed?

When they visited Henry's father in prison, it was obvious that he considered his son a disappointment who wasn't capable of doing the same type of business, yet Nichols still seemed to think that he was capable of it and that's why he kept pushing him in the interview. It was an interesting idea, that no matter how much he hated it, Henry couldn't help but fall into the mobster lifestyle, complete with whacking people who got in your way
