Dollhouse-Meet Jane Doe

Jan 11, 2010 23:56

This episode made me think that they're gearing up for something really big, kind of like at the end of season 7 of Buffy. But the end of this they're going to change everything we know about the dollhouse universe. It also seems like all the staff from the LA house are double crossing someone-Topher, Boyd, Paul and especially Adele, I'm finding that I'm not entirely sure who they're looking out for. I suppose Topher seems to be developing a conscience and is trying to protect his dolls as well as the general population. But Adele, I think it's a combination of looking out for herself and her own power and protecting her house. And maybe a little bit of sticking it to Rossum/ Harding!

I'm not sure of her name but I've suddenly realised that Topher's assistant is quite a bit older than I thought she was. Not that she's old but for some reason I thought she was really young.  Topher's got quite the flair for dramatics! Probably still disappointed that his dream girl turned out to be kind of crazy :(

The way Adele said hitch hiking made it seem like she'd never heard of the concept! Although it's probably more that she didn't realise Echo was capable of such forward thinking

Ok this seems more like what a doll should be like outside of the house. With Daniel Echo seemed too knowledgeable about what they needed to do, but here she barely knows how to function in society. No concept of money or anything like that and extremely naive. But then they also put enough of the personality that Echo's developing into the scene, with her stealing food for the woman and knowing that they needed to get away from the cops

Oh, 3 months later? So much interesting stuff would have happened in those 3 months and now we don't get to see it :(

Jeeze they really have got Adele whipped at the moment. See, I really would have liked to have seen how that happened. I mean she's serving tea to Harding like a servant, she never would have allowed herself to be reduced to that level 3 months ago. I'm not sure what Harding's position was before, but surely it washigher that just running a house? Of course he's also doing something else so the LA house is probably just a cover for his real job

Again, I would have liked to have seen how Echo went from homeless person with no concept of money and eating out of dumpsters to a fully functioning person working as a nurse. (although at first I thought she was just a nurse's aide or something fairly lowly)

Wow, Boyd's gotten really cynical! Surely the house was slightly better for the actives when it was still under Adele's control

Glad I don't live in that state, jail for receiving stolen what, bread? Although I guess there was still the pesky immigration issue. Echo's lucky that the woman was so understanding, she could have blamed Echo for what happened to her, maybe thought that she was part of a setup. Fairly handy that Echo remembered how to speak Spanish at that moment as well.

Speaking of naive, I can't believe that Topher's assistant thought that he wanted to brainstorm with her. Come on, he barely shows her any respect & he's generally condescending towards her, surely she knows that by now.

Using the actives as scientists to develop new tech, it's certainly cost effective-no salaries! Especially as they're spending so much on equipment. I thought that Topher would have wanted to make more of himself. Victor as Topher was so much fun :P

Arg this is getting annoying, how did Echo and/or Paul manage to track down the other?? I enjoyed the conversation about cooking skills, very funny :) I suppose at least one of the actives has been sent into a famous restaurant to cover for a sick chef at some point. They're playing up the sexual tension between the two and whilst it's good, it's so obvious, which kind of ruins it a bit

What would their plan have been if Echo hadn't run into the woman she helped a few months earlier, or were they just planning on breaking any prisoner out, regardless of whether they deserved to be in prison?

It's kind of being hinted, at least this is the way I see it, that at the end of this Caroline might not come back or if she does she's going to have to fight Echo for the body

Ok, that's a neat trick, drawing two completely different plans with your left and right hands at the same time!

My god, Adele's so submissive in front of Harding : ( And of course she needs to know, you could be ruining her house!!

So at some point Paul got in contact with the LA house and said he was tracking Echo, but he was with her the whole time. So we can probably safely conclude that Paul is on Echo's side at the very least, and probably the rest of the actives, but Echo is his first priority

That woman was so trusting of Echo. You think once the pill made her sick she would have turned to the guards. Unless of course the guards are worse that a nurse who might be trying to kill her :(

I know it was part of the plan but Echo 'gave up' on the CPR very quickly. And can a nurse even declare a person dead, I thought only a doctor could do that

A house in Dubai?? This is not a good sign...Plus Boyd seems to be in on a lot, which kind of makes you wonder which side he's on

Wow, punching the elevator wall, guess everything's finally getting to Adele. And that would have to be the biggest outburst I've ever seen her make

So Echo's plan didn't work out quite as well as expected. Now they're both in jail and the guards are pissed :(

I loved Topher's response to scientist Victor and Sierra kissing, just casually hit them with the all new disrupter!

I was pretty much convinced by now that Harding is one of the really bad guys, but wanting split up Sierra and Victor, that's really convinced me, it's so low. As is sending Sierra to Dubai!

It can't be that easy to pull underwire out of a bra, I didn't even hear any fabric tearing

Neat trick that Echo's learned, just brining forth the imprint with the required skills when necessary. But it can't be good for her brain :(

Paul had a very easy role in all this, just threaten to expose the prison guards. Actually he probably should do that regardless of whether the guards cooperate

Topher really has developed a conscience. Besides power, what could Rossum hope to gain from being able to imprint members of the public. There's obviously plenty of people working in the houses who have no conscience, so why bother splitting up the work to try and hide it. Not to mention someone had to work out what parts needed to be built, why not just get them to do the project?

So does this woman speak English or not, after becoming Lisa her English seems to have dramatically improved. And I don't think Paul and Echo have access to doll technology

Well that was a fairly passionate kiss. But I like that they've made Paul smart about this whole issue and he's realised that the feelings might not be coming from Echo. And just as well he pulled away, otherwise Boyd might have caught them. And I don't think he would have been impressed

Adele, so sneaky. What she did, apart from threatening the entire general public, could have had disasterous consequences for Topher, he could have been sent to the attic for withholding those plans. This is what makes me think that a large part of Adele's motives are related to getting back her own power. And of course Harding could see that as well

You know things are getting serious when Topher gets seriously angry. And Adele's had her second explosion for the episode. That was a pretty powerful slap! She's definitely making her way back to the top

Echo and her boys are back!

Oh yeah, Adele's back, and she's definitely up to something. Although somehow I feel that whatever her plan is it will help Echo in the long run.
