Mark held the door open as Arizona stepped in front of him and out of the restaurant.  “So all in all, that wasn’t so bad right?  We managed to have a very nice dinner,” Mark said towards Arizona as he zipped up his jacket to ward against the night chill.

Arizona laughed, “No all in all it wasn’t so bad.  I’ve managed to survive.”  She gave him a crooked smiled as she pulled her purse open and began rummaging for her phone.  “Let me see what Calliope is up to.  Maybe we can grab a drink at Joe’s?  If I’ve managed to survive dinner with you, a few drinks to end the night can’t hurt,” Arizona smirked as she found her phone and sent out a quick text to Callie.

Although she knew from the look on Callie’s face that she was beyond thrilled that Arizona had offered to go to dinner with Mark, Arizona felt a little guilty that Callie had been left behind after she had been looking forward to the dinner plans all day.

As Arizona and Mark walked in a comfortable silence away from the restaurant and the few short blocks back towards the apartment building, Arizona’s phone buzzed with Callie’s response.

Hey babe, I’m at Joe’s already.  Decided to have a few drinks since my gf AND bf ditched me ;).  Come please.

Arizona giggled as she read the text.  Mark quirked his eyebrow before asking, “So?  Is our girl up for a few drinks?”

Arizona gave him a mild glare at his reference to ‘our girl’ but nodded her head, “She’s at Joe’s.  Wants us to swing by.”

“Sounds good to me.  Lead the way,” Mark confirmed following in step next to Arizona.

After arriving at Joe’s a few minutes later, they entered to find a busy crowd but quickly spotted Callie at a table near the bar.  As they walked closer, Arizona realized that Callie was happily chatting with Teddy.

Callie stopped mid sentence in her conversation with Teddy as she saw Arizona come up beside her table.  “Hi!  How was your date?”  Then with a look of trepidation, “Is Mark still alive?”

Mark scoffed as he stepped up to the table.  “Yes. I can handle blondie.  Give me a little credit.”  He turned his attention towards Arizona before saying, “I bet it’s the best date you’ve been on in months.  Torres should take tips from me.”

Arizona snickered, choosing to ignore Mark, and looked over at Teddy and then back to Callie.  “So what’s this?  I go on a date with your best friend, and you track down a date with mine?” Arizona teased Callie.

Callie nodded solemnly, “Yes exactly.  I figured if you and Mark were going to talk about me all night, then it’s only fair that I get to hang out with Teddy and talk about you.”

“Well at least she doesn’t bring up your past sex life,” Arizona mumbled but loud enough for everyone to hear.

Callie jerked her head and glared at Mark.  “Seriously?!  Is that what you talked about?”

Mark threw up his hands in defense, “Hey can you blame me?  When do I not talk about sex?”

Arizona could tell Callie was mortified and was conflicted about whether to be angry with Mark or starting damage control with Arizona.

“Relax,” Arizona said wanting to cease the horror cursing through Callie’s head as she leaned over and gave Callie a chaste kiss on the lips.  “I was kidding.  We agreed on ground rules.  Number one was no talking about your sex life.  With him or me.”

Callie still looked flabbergasted and was starting to regret wanting her girlfriend and best friend to work out their differences.  Arizona just laughed again at the expression on Callie’s face before running her fingers up and down her girlfriend’s forearm in a calming motion as she sat down on the chair next to Callie.  Mark followed suit and grabbed another open chair across the table.

Callie took a deep breath and decided to ask again as she placed her other hand on top of Arizona’s stilling her motions, “So really, how was dinner?”

Arizona smiled at Callie letting her know everything was ok.  “It was fine.  We went to Marabello’s, that little Italian place a few blocks over that you took me to last month?”  Callie nodded her head remembering how much Arizona had enjoyed the restaurant and she had hoped to take her there again.

“Oh Andrew took me there on our second date.  That’s a great place,” Teddy interjected nodding her head in agreement.

“And since I wasn’t paying, I went all out.  Bruschetta appetizer, shrimp and pasta dish for my main course, chocolate soufflé for dessert, a nice bottle of wine…,” Mark rattled out as he sat back rubbing his stomach.

Callie gave him a glare, “Nice Mark.  Way to take advantage.”

“We talked, found one or two common interests, other than you,” Arizona grinned towards Callie.  “And starting tonight, there will be no more entering our apartment or our bedroom without knocking.”

Callie gave a look of disbelief, “Starting tonight huh?”

Arizona nodded her head, “Yup.  So whenever you’re ready to go…,” she trailed off leaving her hint for the taking.  Callie’s eyebrows shot up as she realized Arizona’s intentions.

“Hey!  I’m offended.  I just took you out for a great dinner and you’re just going to ditch me?” Mark asked mocking offense.

“Don’t push it,” Arizona warned teasingly before lightening her tone.  “But I’m sure we’ll see you tomorrow for breakfast.  At a decent hour, after we are all up, dressed, and have greeted each other properly in the living room.”

“Yeah Yeah, point taken.  No more interrupting your morning make out sessions. Or your evening sessions.  Or the on-call room sessions.  Or --.”

Callie could only let out a sarcastic laugh knowing that although dinner was a success, Mark would always be Mark and the veiled wise cracks would just keep coming.  “Ok, and that’s our cue to leave,” Callie said, finishing off her beer and tossing her purse over her shoulder.

“Ready?” she asked Arizona who nodded her head.

Callie stood up from her chair helping Arizona into her jacket and shooting a smile to the remaining two at the table, “We’ll see you guys tomorrow.  Teddy, it was nice to catch up.”

“Likewise.  Have a good night you two,” Teddy offered back.

“And once again Torres gets the girl,” Mark sighed watching Arizona and Callie walk out of Joe’s hand in hand.

Teddy could only laugh before offering, “Well I won’t be going home with you tonight either but I will hang out for a bit while you buy me a drink.”
