I got really sick on Thursday evening, so on the way home from swing dancing I stopped to get headache medicine. I waited at the light to turn left. The light for the turn lane changed to green. The person ahead of me turned left. Then, so did the person in the straight-through lane. Then, so did the cop who had been waiting to turn right. I let them all go, and then I went.
I discovered today why it is that I'm working the closing shift for now and for the foreseeable future. I much prefer working opening. When you get to get everything organized the way you like them to be organized, the day just starts out so much better. We're opening today with three photographers and a girl on her third day. So I offered to work opening instead of closing.
Corey opened his mouth, looking as if he were about to accept my offer. Lilo said, "No, I want to work with my people."
So there you have it. From what she said yesterday, the fact that Lilo trusts me to work hard is what makes me a part of her people. Good to know.
Pilar and I went and bought a bunch of kids movies after the morning meeting. We want to set up a small TV in the lobby, to keep kids distracted so their parents can focus. Bored kids have been acting out all over the place, stomping crayons, knocking over stools, hitting, throwing screaming fits. Kids are kids, but it affects their parents' ability to focus on the product and makes them impatient to just leave. TV could make them quiet and still.
I wish I had something to say about James or school, but I got nothing. My first exam is at 9:00 on Monday. My dance final is a week before all the others'. Wish me luck!
