Hands against the cold glass of the window,
Seeing, and feeling, the tears of the sky.
Wandering eyes, can you see the rainbow?
Knowing, he too searches, waits, and stands by.
Separated by more than just distance,
Beating heart, can you therein see what lies
In the shadows? Chicane, fraud-decadence-
To go against the human soul tries.
Tell which is stronger: the love or the hate?
Will peace engulf our lands, and bring about
Cessation to the vain, endless debate?
Or will we allow scorn to spread throughout?
This ring of mine and that necklace of yours
Shall provide us a way, as love restores.

AN: This is a sonnet. At least, it's supposed to be. It does follow the traditional rhyme scheme and has fourteen lines with ten syllables each. The only thing that irks me is that the meter in the second and third quatrain is off. I know, it's my tragic flaw. I try to cram in all these big and complicated words into a small space and in the end, something doesn't work out. Well, I'm not that much of a poet, so it'll do. I suppose that's another tragic flaw: I settle for less when I know I can do better. Hey, it's the stress from school, I tell thee!
