It's very nice to be home.

So far I haven't seen much of anybody, largely because I've been pretty busy. The house is still in upheaval from painting the downstairs just before I left for school. It's still not done aaaaargh-grump-futile-mild-annoyance (srsly how is this possible, it's been like four months). My goal for the next couple days is to get that shit in order and make the downstairs livable and nice. I think we're going to throw out the very cat pee-stained loveseat. I made a case for giving it away, but Mom said she thought it was beyond hope.

I went to Aikido tonight and it was just incredible. I've been wondering -- honestly, I've been worried that I haven't improved in the last few months, that my stylistic struggles have been more of a problem than a benefit to my journey in Aikido. But when I got home, everything felt right and perfect. My ukemi felt smooth and, for the most part, better than ever.

I had a minor Caring About Things breakdown this evening. Mom asked why I'm investing so much of myself in caring about all the things and I said I'm not, except at that moment I really sort of was and it all went poof. I don't know what I need, maybe just to wind down and let myself relax.

Kevin's turning 17 in two days. HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE. (Hannah: "It will be legal for _____ to hit on your brother in just over a year." Me: O.o *makes plans to station guards armed with rotten vegetables*) Then there's me in eight days, and I don't even know how this particular birthday is already here because there is still so much that I haven't done. Things I need to see, learn, accomplish.

Also I found out that the BEST FRIEND FOR SRS of one of my stepbrothers also happens to be a kind of famous (okay, he's reasonably famous. very, depending on what country you live in) lead singer of one of my favorite bands. MIND. SO. BLOWN.
