Favorite things for today: 1) THUNDERSTORRRRRMS! 2) Not wearing tights! My legs are all airy. I feel scandalous.
So apparently my real boss AND my fake boss are out of town until next Wednesday...and neither of them thought I might need to know this. We have no central calendar. I could not have looked this up. Ladies and gentlemen, (some of) your federal government at work. Heh.
I missed last night's Lost, but am excited for an episode about my favorite island Maybelline spokesman. I love that guy! Even if he's the actual bad guy, which is totally possible! But I'll have to start early if I want to do a Wednesday-Thursday quadruple-header (because I cannot--CANNOT--conceive [ha!] of how Bones is going to pull off what it claims to be pulling off; this cannot wait an extra day and must be watched live or almost-live). This plus finishing my Star Trek review? Dinner, schminner!
Actually, I had this grand plan for a stroll to the Japanese grocery store for some soba noodles, and then
soba salad, but am now considering pancakes instead. For the second time this week. Veggies and lean protein what? Embrace the starch!
Just had a long chat with my office neighbor about roller derby, and how neither of us wants to ACTUALLY do it--because mouth-guard sports are scary, and we like our noses the way they are--but how we both kind of want to hang out with girls who do. It is possible that this is just one more step in my neverending quest to be
Pamie when I grow up. Almost.
Oh! Oh! So you may remember Dr. Dave, the tallest, cutest, former-crushiest Korean doctor I know. After MUCH hemming and hawing--typical, but whatever--he leaves Monday to move back here! This is exciting in the sense that I hope we will hang out (in a non-twitterpated way, promise [OMG, what if I started a Twitter dating service and called it Twitterpated? BRILLIANT!]), and also in the sense that my good friend Luke is his driving buddy. My friends! Are coming! Luke said: "Think of something you've been wanting to do, but don't have anybody to do it with, and we'll go do it." This is why he's awesome. Also, I may or may not be harboring a secret hope that all of my California friends will stow away in his trunk and arrive for fun DC-visiting times. Sleepover at my house, guys!
Did I tell you that I joined the DC screenwriters'
Meetup group? I did. My first meetup is this weekend. I have no idea what to expect, but I'm excited for possible writer-friend hookups here. This is me, social!
My single-topic post this morning apparently took all of the focus out of me. Whoops. I do not know when I became a hodgepodge post person, but here we are. Focus is for sissies, you guys.
