We gave ourselves about a month after the wedding to work on the house and unpacking before we headed off to Nova Scotia.
The first two days we spent exploring the city of Halifax, enjoying our awesome hotel (
http://www.lordnelsonhotel.com) and eating great seafood. We then headed down the Scenic Coastal Drive stopping at many fishing villages, including Peggy's Cove.
The weather was wonderful, and we continued down the coast stopping to hike at the Seaside Adjunct Coastal Trail.
Next we headed inland, stopping at a bed and breakfast near the Kejimkujik National Park, where we took advantage of the marvelous canoeing and hiking
as well as visiting the park's Eastern Hemlocks, some of which are two to three hundred years old.
Lastly, we headed up the northern coast to the Bay of Fundy for some hiking and more amazing seafood.
All in all, we had a great time. I think Nova Scotia was a perfect vacation destination for us: there was a good blend of hiking and good food, and a lack of lame touristy things.
