The Over 90 Crowd
Not sure if I can post this to FB. I love my 10th decade patients. Seriously . What an achievement , stroke of luck , good genes , whatever . The consistent thing I see is insight and wisdom. Even the pseudo crazy ones still have a great sense of humour.
Heck even the 70s and 80s are a whole different and good ball of wax consistently .
Today I saw again a 97 year old sweetheart , who smiles and hugs me every visit. She has great patience and tolerance for pain and hardship, and sees the bright side in every situation. She is almost childlike in her attitude , but you can tell she is not simple .
This inspires me , and is my reward for all the other crap. And there is a fair amount of that in this economy and era. And I think of so many here who are struggling and suffering , and I am grateful . But still, if I didn't have my 90 year olds , as icing on the cake , I think I would be done .
