Computers!

Our children have discovered computers, and Callum in particular has been bitten by the video game virus!
Man they are SO addictive and behavior warping! So this is our latest parenting challenge in supervising, limiting and
dealing with his withdrawal symptoms! Compared to most I would say that we have gotten pretty far compared to the standard since it took
Until after the age of 6 to get to this point. Actually it amazes me how many parents are just so okay with it all and so accepting , like to the point where their four year olds are glued to screens for a good chunk of the day. It is a powerful force to push against though I do admit.

So that being said right now we have one tablet going( Kevin is remotely checking CT scans of hips), two iPads going AND Callum Is playing a relatively non violent game on lego.com .....

In other news it is joyous to add to the already crazy morning routine the care and maintenance of upper and lower palatal expanders . So that means cranking them, fitting a fine little wire handle into a one mm little hole in the middle of each expander , then extra special teeth brushing and fussing , way worse than braces because of all the plastic hardware that traps massive amounts of food, putting wax balls on the sharp parts....extra ibuprofen for a while...and that is just one child and only a small portion of what needs to happen between waking up, driving them to school, and then going to the office! Some mornings it is just so stressful to get everyone all together on time. There are lots of silly moments and laughs , but lots of aggravating ones too. Parenting, at least trying to do it consciously most of the time, is definitely one of the most challenging things I have ever done in my life. And we are just beginning ! Ahhh well. There it is. I am glad I have work as a counterpoint, but it is definitely overwhelming on many days! Thus where I get why so many parents let there kids watch loads of TV and loads of video games etc. Just have to keep trying to always do your best and hope it will be enough.
