I'm still making an effort to get out more and see folks. I think I burnt out after my first week of social madness though.
I spent last night laughing and cooking with the lovely
luvenditti. I think at one point I was laughing so hard I was almost crying. It was nice to eat in rather than out, even if I didn't know what we were making until 30 minutes before she arrived!
On Monday I had lunch with my Mum, who happened to be in town. That was really nice.
On Sunday I went down to Hurley's to watch the Grey Cup with friends. It was great fun. It's too bad the Als didn't win, but Calgary really played *much* better and the Als mostly played crap. On the way out I waved at
jdhobbes ,
sarahcarotte and
foi_nefaste who were there for the band. I would have loved to have stayed, but was feeling quite tired and tipsy. Another time though.
This evening I was supposed to go to a potluck, but I'm madly trying to get stuff organised for my last two trips of the year, so I ended up not going.
Part of my organisational madness is that I need to find an affordable way to stay in touch with clients while in the EU. The blackberry is horrendously expensive to use overseas for the amount of email I typically deal with on a day-to-day basis. I'm trying to see if I can rent a mobile with a data plan for the couple of weeks I'm over there, but so far no luck. Rentals or pay-as-you-go seem to limited to voice only or voice and IM (which doesn't always work from Canada to EU). If anyone has any suggestions I'd love to hear them.
