Random Musings

Had a great time down in MA this weekend. Spring is in full swing down there, with lots of flowers and trees coming into bloom, and trees beginning to look quite green. I was delighted to hear the peeping frogs at night. I really wish I knew what species they are exactly.

I stopped in to visit folks in NH on my way back and pick up a couple of friends to bring them back to Montreal. Everything was still pretty brown down there. In fact they seemed less far along than we are up here, and they still had snow on the ground. But that may be just because of where they are in the mountains. Still.

I got home on Sunday night to find my man in bed. Sick. His mum had been tending to him all day. She also did all the laundry and some of the dishes. He seemed a bit better yesterday, but then spend the whole night alternating tossing cookies with intense fever and chills, which is also what he did Saturday night apparently as well.  I felt so helpless. It really was quite violent wretching, even when there was nothing left to wretch. He slept most of today and was finally able to keep water and dilute juice down this afternoon.  We are pretty sure it was food poisoning.

Got news of the grandparents from Mum. They are doing better than we thought, which is a relief. Although I suspect it won't be long now before they need to move into a home. Grandad is apparently fascinated by seeing photographs on the computer. Reading things like that really make me realise how much the world has changed in his lifetime. Is the world going to change as much in mine, I wonder?

I finally heard back from the folks ate Hema-Quebec early last week. It sure took them long enough. Apparently the medical reasons I can't give blood also mean they can't accept me on the stem cell registry. Sorry Emru. I wanted to.

I haven't been finding much time for myself and friends recently. I will remedy that in May.

spring, family
