Baby CJ had her first birthday last night. She’s not sure what’s up with all of these presents, but she thinks the wrapping paper is fun. She did not like either of her hats, which was no surprise, since she rips bows out of her hair.
She does like dolls, which is a bit odd for a child that young, I think. She was rocking Twinkle last night. Twinkle is the new doll she got for Christmas. Twinkle is black. Apparently, at day care, CJ is a little possessive about one of the black dolls, so her parents bought her one of her very own. She rocks her, comforts her, shows her toys and cleans her nose. Oddly enough the last one is particularly entertaining.
CJ did not appear too keen on any of her new toys, but she showed them all to Twinkle. The food, however, was a hit. She’d never had ice cream before, but she took to it rather quickly. She had some trouble with her cupcake. She liked the cake and the icing, but she wanted someone to feed it to her because it was messy. She would gently pat the top of the icing, but as soon as there was any give, she pulled her hand away.
Clearly, Baby CJ enjoys being the center of attention. In my family, that should probably not be an issue.
