Anyway... as some of you who are keeping an eye on
spn_reversebang posting dates might have noticed... I had a posting date this past tuesday, and obviously I didn't post anything. Reason? My writer bailed on me (read: she deleted her journal temporarily, and is not reacting to emails) pretty much on posting day so that was awesome. After contacting the mods they gave me two choices: Either I could post the art without a story, or they could try to contact my writer and if she didn't react, they could try and find a pinch hitter for me. I choose that last one. My writer hasn't reacted to the mod email, so I guess my prompt is now going up for adoption again. We'll see how that goes. I have no idea what my new posting date will be, but I'll let ya'll know once I do.
I do have some other creative stuff to post though. Last weekend we went to my sisters and her boyfriends home to celebrate a veeeery belated Sinterklaas/Christmas. As we do every year, we get assigned one person who you buy a present for and make one present for (some of you might remember last year, when my mom made me a
decorated box filled with spn quotes). This year, I had to buy/ make a present for my mom. I made her this:
I bought the small wooden box, and then painted a dragon on it.
I didn't have enought time to design a dragon myself, so I found a picture I liked on the web, and painted that on the lid.
Inside is a dragon made out of beads (I used
this tutorial) guarding its hoard.
Better look at the dragon:
And here's a look at it's hoard:
I made a 'dragon eye' necklace...
...and a bracelet with matching earrings.
My middle sister had me, and obviously, she made me a present that was Spn themed. :D
Look at this awesomenes:
She used tea to color the box a darker color, and used a wood burner tool to etch in the pattern and letters.
Let's look inside:
How awesome is that? :D :D
Here are all the presents I got:
I'm actually getting another thing, but it hadn't arrived yet, so I still have something coming. \o/
And here's what the rest of the family made:
My mom had my middle sister and made her this:
My youngest sister had my dad, and made him this:
My dad had my sisters boyfriend, and made him this:
And last but not least, my sisters boyfriend had my youngest sister, and made her this:
All in all, it was a great get together with awesomely creative gifts. :D
