i might catch a little holy hellfire for this, so back up from the screen when you read this:
this whole 6/6/06 business is a crock of shit.
i mean, didn't we go through this at the turn of the century? nothing happened at 2000 - no apocalypse, no computer mainframe crash, not even a busted traffic light. our calendar is so far off from biblical reckoning that if the end of days was next week, only like 3 anthropologists and a math professor in oregon would know about it. granted, it's only noon, so we MIGHT all still be going to hell, but it just seems to me that if the capital G decided to teach us a lesson (and assuming s/he follows a system of logic that is anything close to our own, which is doubtful), it would be over something a little less arbitrary than a day that sort of coincides with the devil's mark.
who knows. all i can say is that i'm still going out to the chiropractor and dropping by the mall to pick up a couple of shirts today. harder to lightning bolt a moving target, no?
