I went to visit Mom & Dad yesterday, and was immensely relieved to find that Mom was dressed and sitting up at the dining room table just like before her surgery. She was very present and could take teasing and give it back. She and Dad were chatty and smiling and pretty perky, and it did my heart good. I said something--I don't remember what--that made them both laugh, especially Dad--oh, he just threw his head back and did that HA HA HA thing that men of a certain age do when you've really tickled their funny bone.
Mom feels so much better and she's no longer having hallucinations. I feel hugely better about all of this.
Yes, I'm pathetic, I don't like change, I want to stop time.
