A cursed City and an... uncursed City?

This is a strange situation. I guess I can do naught but do my usual patrols and help where I can. Votes for a Warden... I have examined the candidates so far and, just based from what I have read and what I have heard in the past, I believe this 'Vimes' would be a fair choice. A time to exercise caution, truly. Who knows what shall happen next though my instincts are propelling me to think and act like I would on the battlefield, so...? My mother visited me yesterday... I had not seen her since my tenth year. It was... a moving experience. More moving than I really know how to express.

Thanks to the efforts of certain persons, I am once again confined to my bed (after a lovely trip to the zoo earlier). It seems those here are unwilling to let me escape from my illness and insist I stay confined in my quarters until I am fully recovered. Perhaps this is wisdom, but...
