[is also out and about doing some discrete Christmas shopping, but somehow managed to get distracted by books so she doesn't see him juuuuust yet.]

[Poor Silk is a bit distracted himself, and doesn't realize until the last moment he's about to bump into Raven. Or what's overhead. When he does see her, he grins brightly.]

Oh! Good afternoon, Raven!

[The sound of her name pulls her attention from whatever book she's looking into and a small smile manifests as she catches sight of him.]

Silk, hi. [Then her brows furrow and she looks at him a little strangely; something feel off somehow...]

... what are you out for?

[He lifts a shopping bag by way of explanation, still smiling. Christmas might be a foreign holiday but he's getting into the spirit.]

Doing some holiday shopping. And yourself?

[He's feeling a little funny, too, come to think of it...]

[She eyes the back and levitates two of her own to show him.]

Likewise fulfilling the obligations of the season. [pauses, tries to place the weird compulsion to step closer.] Is there something going on today? [might as well vocalize it, right?]

Some kind of a curse, I think. [He sounds distracted, and takes a half-step closer without realizing he's doing it.] There's mistletoe everywhere, I'm not entirely clear on what it means.

[Uh-oh. It doesn't take very long for that to suddenly click and there's a split second where she raises her eyes to confirm with a sinking mixture of dread, embarrassment, and ohsweetAzarthisisgoingtobeawkwaaaaard.]

[In the meantime, she's also levitated closer and up, because hi Silk, I imagine you're taller than Raven. Thinks fast, thinks fast--

Leans forward to quickly peck him on the side of the mouth (which is as far away as the curse will allow it appears), before dropping back down quickly. Let the awkward silence commence. Raven's not really sure if she should apologize or not.]

... um.

[He's confused as she levitates, and even more confused by the kiss. This tradition doesn't exist in his whorl. And although he gave Lucy a peck on the cheek before, this is a little different. And, uh. Silk has never been kissed.]

Um, [he agrees. Aaaaawkward.]

... sorry. [She resists the temptation to have the Earth swallow her up in black energy there and then and flee back to her room, shopping and gift items be damned.]

I ... think it's a curse. [Avoiiiiding eye contact and it's slowly starting to seem like Timid's taken over the helm.]

It's all right. [Silk, perpetually honest as he is, doesn't really mind; it was just sort of unexpected. He sounds perfectly calm. His cheeks are bright red, but you know, that could totally just be the cold.]

It is a curse, and so you needn't feel responsible. Besides, you've done no harm. Is this customary? [He reaches up to pick the mistletoe off its hook curiously.]

[She nods in answer to his question and eyes the mistletoe warily in his hand.]

Something like that. Leave it up to the deities to forcibly enforce this one. [Crankiness is apparently Raven's way of channelling acute embarrassment, although there are likewise spots of crimson blooming on her cheeks.]

Well, at least the sentiment is pleasant. [He eyes the small plant quizzically, not sure what to do with it since he probably can't slip it back onto the hook. And from what he's heard and seen it will probably just grow back.]

Are you all right? I'm sorry to be the cause of your discomfort...

You're not. [she assures him, struggling to pull in her wayward emotions before she blew something up.]

And, it's better to find out about the curse this way than being accosted by a random stranger, I suppose. [a sigh] There go my plans for shopping today.

It might make things more difficult. [For lack of anything better he slips the sprig into a pocket.]

And yes, I suppose it could be much worse.
