That's perfectly alright, Roisin! I really understand not being able to read and review a story right away, especially when you have a busy RL *and* are writing on several stories. *huggles* I don't mind getting late comments at all. ;-) It's very sweet of you to let me know, though - I'm always a bit insecure when posting a new story, but I guess that's the same for all of us. *huggleglomps*

I do hope RL cooperates. ;-)

*huggles Elf and Ranger again*

Need I say I loved it?

I hope so, too! :D

Feel free to keep hugging them, they really need it right now. ;-)

You don't need to, but I do not mind at all if you do! *bg*

That must have been a difficult chapter to write and yet it all came across very convincingly. How Aragorn's healing skill actually works is still a mystery to me so it's always good to read different takes on it.

It really was difficult to write, especially the emotional aspect. I think it is always difficult to make the reactions and emotions of characters appear realistic and adequate in an extreme situation. I'm very glad it came across convincingly for you! How Aragorn's healing skill works is a mystery to me, too. I actually wasn't sure if I had overdone it a bit with that scene, but I like the idea that Aragorn uses more than just the normal human senses when he heals and that he might have an ability to relieve pain, at least to some degree (it made for a much nicer scene between the two of them than having him just examine the arm ;-). Since Frodo felt better after Glorfindel touched his wound I thought Aragorn might have a similar ability, though it is debatable whether such a healing touch only works on specific wounds (caused by Nazgul and Morgul blades). Thank you very much for reading and commenting! :)

I too think Aragorn could relieve pain. We know Frodo felt the pain and sense of frozen cold lessen in his side as a result of Strider's treatment though he could not do as much for Frodo as Glorfindel could. It would be nice to have some definite answers but it seems there aren't any. Your reasoning is as good as anyone's!

Which is actually a bit strange since Glorfindel is not even a healer. It always makes me wonder if this was meant to mean that all elves had certain natural healing abilities or if it just underlined that Glorfindel was someone special. It's hard to imagine *not* feeeling better after receiving a treatment from an elf or from Aragorn, though. ;-)

Given that you love Legolas so, I imagine this must have been a difficult chapter to write. You've made Legola's bitterness very real, and I liked your take on Aragorn's healing powers. Well done.

It really was a difficult chapter to write. I never find it easy to make all the emotions and reactions in such an extreme situation appear realistic and just - well, "right". *g* I'm very glad you liked my take on Aragorn's healing powers - I guess it's debatable whether he actually could or could not do what I made him do in this chapter, but I've somehow grown fond of that scene. ;-) I think poor Legolas really has all the right in the world to be bitter right now, and scared. *huggles elf* Fortunately I don't think Aragorn will allow him to remain in that emotional state for too long. Thank you so much for your review! :D

Well, you were very successful in this chapter. The emotions and reactions sounded very, very realistic to me. And as for Aragorn's healing powers given that Tolkien never really told us much about it, except that the posession of it signals a gifted individual, the way you portrayed it sounds in cannon with Tolkien's explanations of what Elvish magic meant.

That's great to know! :) The elven magic is one of the things I love most about Tolkien's books, especially since there's always an element of mystery about it. ;-)
