I don't know why I get myself into these things.
A Marine recruiting officer called me up yesterday trying to get me interested in joining, like they're doing to every senior in town. Well, as I was yapping to the guy, he managed to set up an appointment with me to go to the recruiting center today at 2:00. My parents were fervent in making sure I didn't go sign anything while I was there. I'm a little paranoid at the idea I even showed interest in the military, but he just made me feel like I'd be interested in it. I'm supposed to find out more about it today, and if I'd be able to put up with the rigorous physical requirements that'll probably kill me if I don't work at it beforehand.

I used to be frightened at the idea of being required to go into military service from the draft and whatnot, but now, it seems as if that might be a fairly rewarding career to get into, providing I don't get killed. It's exciting, thrilling, if you like being on the brink of death, endurance building, and something that I could probably get into easier than going normally through college and trying to get a job at a huge corporation such as CVS (providing I can get my weak appendages into shape). They always have access to new technology, and make the most of any resources they have - things I love doing, problem solving and such. I'd bet I'd have more access to new technologies in the military than I would at a corporation where they probably only upgrade every 5-8 years. But the Marines, hmmm, it might be a little much. My parents suggested the Air National Guard, what my cousin's in, over being a bullet sponge. I don't know, I'll have to see.
