Last night I was still feeling all knotted up from the plane trips across the country, so I dug out my Rodney Yee Power Yoga dvd. I realised pretty quickly that I'd always done the flexibility routine and this was the first time I'd done the (upper body) strength one.
I was pleased that my arms held out, but my balance was totally off. I also couldn't draw really deep breaths, I think the muscles around my torso are just that tight, it feels constricting whenever I try to expand my lungs. This'll be a problem for the Tour de Cure, I'll need to get all the oxygen I possibly can.
I think I need to go back to the flexibility routine and then come back to the strength one, I want to nail the hand balances.
Oh, and my shoulder also wasn't up to the eastern/face up plank pose, it didn't hurt, it just wouldn't rotate that far back.
I also need to use the foam roller on my legs some more, there are some stubborn knots there, some of which are pulling on my knee cap and causing pain.
