I noticed the other day that I hadn't updated my word count file in about five fics, so I did that the other night. Then kaalee posted her rec-yourself post again, and I started thinking about the stories that I've written and so forth, and the result is that, although I should put my cold to bed, I'm posting.

Really?? :) That's so nice to know! Thank you for telling me this! I'm delighted that the first story you read didn't disappoint you and that it was OCJ that got you into WTL, too. :) I do the exact same thing with authors I'm not familiar with! ♥

I'd just like to say that I personally loved "Bittersweet", and it's included in my H/D Aurors list ;))

Other than that, I actually find it rather strange that some of the stories you yourself love so much don't get noticed as much as others you thought were in fact worse. Underappreciation indeed.

It is interesting how it works, isn't it? Sometimes I'll get an email about one specific one-shot that someone found particularly mention-worthy for whatever reason and think, why that one? I'm always interested in hearing why a specific story worked for someone (or didn't!). And of course, there are varying levels of how much you like your own stories, too. Obviously, out of 77 stories, I like some better than others. Some I consider complete flops or cringe to remember that I wrote them, while others that I thought were (for me, at least) pretty decent don't get the hits or reviews so much. I guess with a reading base as large as we have in the fandom, you just attract all sorts of readers and personalities, and some things click and other things don't.

I'm delighted that you like Bittersweet! ♥

Wow. Just read them all (and then some).

Bittersweet -- oh, I loved this. It's the perfect mixture of angst, intrigue, and sweetness, with such a lovely ending. The entire misunderstanding between them is so heartbreaking not just because of everything that could have been avoided but because of how realistic it is, and Malfoy's feelings about his own family only add to the heartache. I loved that Malfoy was so bold in this, what with the "we should be together now" and that Harry, bless him, is so insecure and scared about Draco leaving him (again), but he's still there in the morning! and it's lovely. And that line, about wanting Draco's soul on a silver platter? Whew. Intense.

Morning After -- how have I never read this before? LOTR and HP ( and H/D), omg! I loved it. Not just LOTR, but Faramir (who is my absolute favourite character next to Sam) and Eowyn! Draco in reading glasses is just about the sexiest image ever, and I love that Harry's clothes were strewn all about the Manor. (and he failed the character tests, poor thing ( ... )

!!!!!!!

You lovely, lovely thing! Thank you for this! This was like sitting down to a feast! Thanks for reading all these stories and for telling me what you thought! ♥♥♥♥

So, Bittersweet. I'm so glad you liked it! I'm going to say that about all of them, just so you know. :P But really, yay! I'm so glad it feels realistic to you, too. The sudden boldness was fun, particularly because it's definitely unusual for Draco to be so forthcoming about anything. And you liked the silver platter line! ♥

And then, you delicious thing, you read another one that I didn't even list here! ♥ I'm so glad you liked Morning After, too! Draco in glasses was the request from the dedicatee and I liked the idea, plus I love LotR! I love the Faramir/Eowyn romance. ♥ I also have a major thing for war-damaged!Harry for sure. :)

Memory - that was a dark place to write from. I think one of my favourite bleak moments in that is when he and Snape Apparate away (Draco, in that moment and in that place between places, suddenly yearned for the end.) - he's so ( ... )

Too long :D, so, continued --

Better Things -- oh god. ohgodohgodohgod. I was all prepared to tell you how I giggled at Ron's talk of bananas and various other groceries moments after coming, how fascinating the way you dealt with Hermione was, but then I read that sex scene with Harry and Draco and OH MY GOD. I actually took a break in the middle because it was so intense and incredibly hot that I needed to calm down. Seriously! I am such a fan of fics where one teases and tortures the other for hours to the point of incoherency, but the climax in stories like that is more often than not disappointing or just glossed over. This one, however, did not disappoint, in the least. My god. By the time I finished reading that scene, I was sated and content enough to believe I'd just come. Holy fuck. But I did like how you dealt with the end of Harry and Ron's relationship -- how they're so comfortable with each other and still love each other is very believable -- and I did like how it ended with them on their usual friendly note. I would have the devil's own time picking just three of your fics...I can't even imagine what you, as the author, would go through trying to decide on favourites. Agnus Dei, On the Wings of the Storm & Allegiance and Sedition would probably head the list.

That said, I have a special fondness for Beautiful Stranger & it's sequels...they were the first of your fics that I read. Also Want...which is just sweet.

What a nice thing to say! :) Thank you!! I'm delighted that you like those ones! In a strange way, many of them are "favourites" for me, for one reason or another, but yeah - if you have to choose, then those are my choices. :) I've always had a soft spot for Want, too. ♥♥♥!

Y'know, I'd read the first two in the past and enjoyed them. The last one originally I wasn't going to read at all, because... sadly... Harry/Ron actually squicks me out. (Which is sad, because I can read almost any other pairing just fine, really...) But I gave it a try because there was a happy HP/DM ending. grins* I loved it. ^_^

Harry/Ron is not my favourite thing, either, so I completely understand! ♥ Thank you for reading that third one anyway!! :) (So nice!) I'm really, really happy that you liked it! ♥
