Just thought I'd get on and let everyone know I am doing muuuuuuuch better than expected. My mouth is barely sore at all, and now that the anesthesia has worn off, I feel almost as good as normal (though the pain killers make me pretty dizzy). Kim's "Calming Playlist" iPod suggestion saved my life in the waiting room yesterday, as I do believe I would've had a heart attack if not for the music. The worst thing about it is I can't drink any milk (I love milk) or milk products (I am addicted to ice cream) for ten days.
The anesthesia had a MOST terrible effect on me. It took me nearly thirty minutes to go under. The poor surgeon kept telling me my heart rate was sky high and I needed to calm down. Discussions of college, Charles Dickens, and computers did not put me to sleep, but once I started talking about Xtra Heat I was out like a light. When I woke up, I was *psycho*; I started crying that my dog had died, but I had so much gauze in my mouth they couldn't understand me, so they brought my mom in to translate and she told me there was nothing wrong with Riley. On the five-minute ride home, I kept crying because I thought we were lost. Once I got home, I cried because I saw a filly break down one or two years ago (Who Loves Aleyna) and I thought my dog's leg was broken. I also cried because the surgeon wouldn't let me keep my teeth. Needless to say, Mother gave me a sleeping pill that knocked me out for most of the day. ;)
I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOO freakin' hungry and there is barely anything I can eat. Kim, I have a gift for you for saving my life, just to let you know. I should be well enough to get on by this afternoon unless I have to take more of that icky nasty narcotic.
