So Last Night

Aug 21, 2013 12:52

So last night I took a run to "the other side of the tracks" as it were.

I arrived and started walking up to the house with the order in hand. A bunch of kids that looked to be between 6 and 8 were playing in the next yard over having a grand old time. Really hooting and hollering.

I smiled and said hi, then continued walking up to the house.

"There ain't nobody there. Bring that over here." Says one of the kids.

The lights are on in the house, a car is in the driveway, and I can see a television running through the curtains. I say nothing.

I knock on the door, deliver the pizza to a really nice lady who tips me a few bucks and wishes me a pleasant evening.

As I walk back to my car the kids shout over at me "Fuckin' racist! Taking it to her instead of giving it to us."

Flabbergasted I get in my car and drive off without saying a word.
