[She's standing on the temple roof, glaive in hand as she gazes at the wasteland known as Adstringendum and the parasites within it.]

[What is with her and roofs lately? But she makes it to the roof, transformation wand clenched tightly in her pocket, eyes wide.]

[Her voice is a hiss and the glaive is pointed at Rei with no concern that this is a fellow senshi. That this is a friend.]

[Rei freezes the moment she takes notice of the glaive.]

Hotaru, you need to focus. This is just the event, do you understand me? You need to calm down and put that down.

[For a long moment Hotaru just stares at Rei. This is Hotaru, not Saturn, not Mistress 9 but Hotaru.]

[The glaive, droops just a bit and there seems a flash of recognition.]

[She takes a tentative step forward.]

It's Rei, remember? Sailor Mars. I'm a senshi, just like you are, we're meant to protect this world, not get rid of people on it. Please, put that down and let's go inside.

This world is already destroyed! What is the purpose of protecting the vile beasts no better than any youma or daimon?

[She looks at the hand and all that it offers. A voice says to reach out and take it. The glaive droops just a little bit... but then, then anger fills her as it never has before. She screams.]

[She raises the glaive high intent to slice it down Rei's middle.]

[Rei's eyes widen in shock and she jerks her hand backwards, rolling out of the way at the last moment. Her transformation wand is out -- ]

[The fire swirls around her and Sailor Mars stands up where Rei had been before, eyes wide with shock.]

Hotaru-chan! Listen to me! I don't want to fight you!

[She grins as she watches the fire. She runs at Rei glaive ready to fall against her once more. In her state she cannot think to use her actual attacks. Rage is pushing her to use only physical attacks.]

[Mars skips aside, gloved hands reaching out to grasp the handle of the glaive, in an effort to wrench it away from her.]
