Well, no update yet on the house situation with my padre. Hope for good news!

But on a side note: I have been looking quite a bit for a house of my own. While I can't afford one right now that doesn't mean I can't look!!

+.5 acre
NOT IN SOUTHEAST OR NORTHWEST
Okay locations:
-Roanoke County
-Vinton
-Bedford
-Troutville
-Hardy
-Salem
-Fincastle
-Catawba
-Blueridge
and below $120,000
Other than that I am not too picky.
It doesn't have to be in great shape as I can definitely get my dad to help me out with any necessary repairs. And cosmetic issues are just that. Cosmetic. Easily fixed/changed.
I found one out in Roanoke County that I love. It is $114,950, .84acr, 3 bd and 1 ba. AND IT HAS A FIREPLACE!! The location isn't too bad (it isn't in southeast or northwest) and it has some well established trees. The house itself is a little dated but that is okay. The lot is a little odd shaped but still fenceable for my pup. It is not in a major neighborhood and I have been trying to find some comp houses to determine what it is really worth right now, but that has been a touch difficult. But again, I need to work at NOT falling in love with a house right now because I CAN'T buy one right now!!!!
