If politics didn't make me laugh so hard, I would cry
Depressingly true article about Canadian political apathy. Although it would be nice if the author addressed why it's so fucking hard to care. (It also shows my Canada icon in a really grim light.)
Still, it's the most well articulated piece I've come across on why Harper needs to go, regardless of policy and platform.
This opinion piece by Elizabeth May on why she should be allowed to participate in the national debate highlights all of the reasons she impressed me so much in the 2008 debate. Articulate, informed, and committed to an ethical brand of political participation. AND I'M REALLY ANNOYED THAT SHE IS RUNNING IN THE RIDING NEXT TO MINE. I could marry my urge to vote strategically with voting for the party I actually like if I lived 2km east of where I am. FFS.
