This is an interesting look at Kaon - and WHY it is such a haven for Decepticon troops.
Nice meld of commonly accepted origins while providing your own twists - Prowl, Praxian enforcer, Sunstreaker, Sideswipe, gladiators, Megatron, Gladiator, and so forth -
With pre-war stories, few authors remember that most of the mechs might have been friends before they chose opposite sides of the war. You didn't. Well, technically, Bonecrusher playing cards with the twins, and someone nameless (all Pitfighters gang) may not be friends, but they aren't enemies - friendly neighbors perhaps?
I don't need to know. Most of my questions will be answered as I continue reading.
I tried to think of reasons why the Decepticons exist and why mechs joined. This was the result.
I loved the possibility show the origins and just put them into this world. :) I would've loved to expand on it, too. Maybe to show what happened to Glint or maybe how Soundwave comes into the mix. But I lacked the time.
I'm sorry if your questions didn't get answered. ^^ But I loved the chance to show the many possibilities of life before the war. Friendly neighbours, well kind of, I guess. :)
Ah, a Jazz and Prowl story :) I love those! Your world building is rich as always, full of nice twists on fandom accepted 'facts' about many of the bots (even if canon is often not that clear), and I love both MC's characterization, which you have down pat!
Of course Jazz doesn't like cutting deals more than Prowl does, but he is resigned to it, and you give us a good look at Kaon back in the pre-war days, and why the Decepticon's could take roots there and attract new members easily.
I really like this! :)
Two little issues, though? I'm near sighted, so the font you use is really too small to read comfortably! And a little typo in this sentence:
"And how is that poseitive/positive for us?" asked Prowl confused.
...not that we fans don't play hard and fast with canon facts even IF they are very detailed, explained to death and seemingly set in stone, right? ;)
My eyesight would appreciate it! :) But LJ really was crashing big time some days ago. I'm impressed you even managed to post this - I wasn't even allowed to log in for long hours! Very annoying, when you wanted to get something done!
PS: I'm currently playing "Resident Evil 6" °_0" OMG! How did THAT happen?!
Hard and fast? We? Never.... ;) We just bend it bit, turn it around to look at it differently, expand a little, go bit forward and back (or sideways) in time... and dimension. You know. The usual.
I needed hours to get it up. -.- A friend of mine was waiting for me and I was like: I'm coming, I'm coming, just a few more minutes - werw!§piwpe LJ!
... Really? O.o Well, yes, HOW did that happen?! Didn't know you're a egoshooter fan. ^^

He doesn't like it one bit, but there are not many choices left in Kaon.
Mmh, sorry about the font. LJ was crashing on me when I uploaded it and I was glad it even went up at all. -.-" I try changing it later.
Thanks for the typo!
