Bleach Fandom.

You know, there are days where I just worry for the Bleach fandom. Or at least the fanfiction part of it. Surely the first page of ff.net's Just In section for Bleach shouldn't include so many awkward summaries and Mary-Sues? Please tell me people confused Halloween with April Fools and are just mocking us?

However, I have time on my hands. (Sortof, anyway.) So let's have a look at a few of those Sues, shall we? (This is going to be long, so skip the cut if you're not in for a bumpy ride.)

Fic 1: Lil' Demon Girl.
Akuma's the Demon Girl. She's scary. yet cheerful. Her Uncle is Gin, her close friend is Hitsugaya. Not to mention Ikkaku and Yachiru. Byakuya, too. With shinigami friends like hers, there's no way to know what sort of stuff she'll have to go through. R&R
Source.

*sigh* Oh, people. I was hoping this was a troll, but the author has another story up and seems to have been here for a few months at least. The other story? A Naruto fic with the following premise:

Meet Akuma Raiko, a not-so-ordinary kunoichi from a hidden village. She goes to the Sound Village and becomes Sasuke's student. This is the start of an unlikely friendship. Follow her as she accompanies Sasuke in his quest for revenge. Contains an OC.

Yes, the Sue gets around.

Some wonderful parts of the first chapter of the Bleach fic:

1.
Her name is Akuma Ichimaru. She is the niece of Gin Ichimaru. She, by Soul Society standards is still a child, her age is around Hitsugaya’s age. She is about 2 cm shorter than Rukia (Akuma’s height is 142 cm).

Akuma has black hair and brown eyes. She wore the black shinigami uniform, but with the sleeves covering her hands with a slit going up until the wrist and rather close-fitting black hakama. She also wore a red sleeveless haori, similar to a captain’s haori, with slit going up until the hip. On her hands, she wore a pair of red fingerless gloves with a metal band across them.

2.
Indeed, they were. For there are only few people who had never heard of the Demon Girl.

Akuma is known as the Demon Girl throughout Soul Society. She was as scary as Unohana and Nanao. And everyone knew how scary those two were. People feared her, and sometimes some of the crueler teachers at the Shinigami Academy would scare the students with rumors of the Demon Girl. Hell, she even managed to scare the Eleventh Division. Only one other person was capable of doing this and that was Unohana.

I hope Zaraki cuts off your head. -_-

“Listen up, boy. I may not be your Captain but Kenpachi-san had specifically said that my orders are more important than his. As for your other question, yes, I am the Demon Girl.” Her tone sounded calmer, but it held the same amount of anger. Yup. This one is definitely new recruit.

Oh, no, wait 'Kenpachi-san' has been wrapped around her little finger. Forget I said anything.

Plzbeatroll plzbeatroll plzbeatroll.

Fic 2: This was the Last Thing I Wanted

I'm thinking this is a troll, seeing as it's the only thing the author has ever done. I'm just praying it is, because otherwise this world is just too cruel. -_-

Scarlet has a great spiritual pressure unlike anything the soul society has seen. What is she? What will become of her? I guess you will have to find out.

1.
There is no easy way to say this… I thought to myself “I’m the real reason your mother was killed on that rainy June 17th” These words were the one that could end a new reunited friendship. The ones… I hoped I would never have to say. It felt as if my semi-perfect life came crashing down.

He said nothing. Why wouldn’t he talk!? my mind screamed at me. What a stupid question! I knew exactly why he wouldn’t. 7 years of blaming himself, and it turned out to be my fault. I stood there counting the seconds while my eyes began to tear up. “Ichigo…” My voice came out as a whisper.

“You stupid girl.” His voice was monotone. This time he yelled, “You stupid girl!!!” I looked up at him. “You know nothing about how my mother died!”

“Your right…” I sighed, “I don’t know everything, but I do know I’m the one to blame the most. So don’t blame yourself anymore you idiot!”

... *slaps Sue, reaaaaally hard*

2.
“Kisuke Urahara?” My eyes got huge. I was so close!

“That’s me.” He smiled. Now when I think back on it, maybe trying to run away from my problems wasn’t the greatest idea, or maybe it was the best idea. “Now explain to me. Why where you hitch hiking?”

“… My father abuses me, my real dad ran out on me, my mom’s dead, I think I may have lost one of my best friends… Oh! And not to mention I can actually see and feel ghosts.”

Backstory filled with abuse? Check!

3.
“Ichigo where were you?” Rukia jumped out of the closet. (And no not like she’s gay)

There are no words...

Fic 3: Black, Red, and More Black

Airi is a normal teen, in a normal world, but her mom just got killed. Oops? Renj/OC
Source.

Oops!

Quotes:

1.
“What if somewhere in the wide world, there was another person who is saying the same thing as me right now, and she is thinking of me as I'm thinking of her, along with her two friends, who are thinking of Orihime and you.” Airi said to Rukia Kuchiki, “And now she is looking at you guys, and then somewhere else in the world, there is a dog, a cat, and another cat, talking about two groups of humans who are thinking all about the other group of humans, and now both humans are talking about the animals, and... wow. That confusing.” she trailed off.

O_O That's the beginning of the chapter. Ouch!

2.
“She's still asleep.” Yoruichi murmured, curing up on Renji's lap.

What is this 'curing up' business and what does it have to do with Renji's lap? Yoruichi, are you hitting on people again?

(Gah, I so want to spork some of these stories, but that would be cruel...right? Is there even a Bleach-spork community? O_O)

3.
“Who's Byakuya?” Airi said. Rukia and Renji's heads turned and looked at her.

“What? I saw him in my dream, then somebody said, 'They'll be trying to find Byakuya by now.'”she said.

She saw Byakuya in a dream. Yeah, that happens to all of us. We don't usually end up in a fic about it, though.

4.
“You got expelled because you loved my mom and she loved you. If Renji falls in love with me, will he get expelled too?” Probably. Damn it! Go away. Not yet. If you really want to love Renji, which I doubt you'll put him to that risk, you need to become one of him. I need to become a Renji? No! Moron. A Soul Reaper. You have powers hidden, because you can see the Hollo- I want to see you in person. You promised once I fell in love, you'd show me yourself. There was silence, then she flashed to an alternate world. A woman clothed in white with long white blond hair stood before her.

This bit is bolded and whatnot in parts, because she's talking to both her dead father and her...zanpakutou? Well, a strange girl who is her, but not her zanpakutou. It's really confusing. *sighs*

Fic 4: Not afraid of dying

ust a short little drabble about Hitsugaya and My OC. Everything goes fine until Hitsugaya calls Yuki childish. To say the least, it doesn't go over well.
Source.

This is a songfic, so it'll get deleted soon. Barely enough to be called a fic, really. Also, what the title has to do with the fic is beyond me.

Quotes:

1.
I grimaced, and called my blade. “Blossom, Hyadori” It was subtle, the edge of my blade sprinkling into seeds, barely noticable.

Things grow in their time, Blossom, and fade<

The seeds grew, still hard to see as seedlings latched on to the hollow. They grew to plants then formed buds. Crimson flowers drained the blood from the hollows body, sapping it’s spiritual pressure. “Return, Hyadori.” It was clearly visible as the flowers detached, leaving gaping holes, and returned to form my blade.

Yumichika wants his zanpakutou back, thanks. -_- Also, Byakuya thinks you're stealing his thunder.

2.
“I didn’t mind when you called me Toushirou,” I looked at him, titlting my head slightly. “You never teased me.” I smiled.

*sigh*

3.
He walked closer to me, put his hands on my shoulders, and forced my head up so that our eyes met. “Yes Yuki, you are childish.” I tried to pull away but he would not let me, “In Yachiru it’s annoying, in you, it’s endearing.”

I’m not afraid to die

I opened my mouth to speak, to say anything, anything at all, but before I could speak, or even figure out what to say, his lips met mine, and chased my thoughts away.

-_- This fic is basically 'Sue gets special ice prince'. That's it. A few lines of absolutely nothing and lyrics from some song, topped off with a pretty little kiss and Hitsugaya saying how cute she is.

Oh, Bleach, you wound me so.

Meme.

Answers to questions by xushi:

1) I think you mentioned you were a teacher. So my question is ... first, how different is the education system in the Netherlands to North America? What grade do you teach, and if you could do it all again, would you teach the same grade again?
2) Your favourite Bleach character, and why.
3) Which Bleach character do you identify with most. Why do you think that is?
4) The top five places you have visited and why.
5) I know you hang out in the Wrestling fandom too, so who are your top five wrestlers, and why.

1)
Vastly different, from what I've heard. First of all, high-school is separated in three branches. Mavo or VMBO, Havo and VWO. A test and previous results get you in one of the three. These three differ in difficulty, so that every student gets taught at their own level. Mavo is the 'easiest' and takes four years, Havo 'intermediate' and takes five, while VWO is for the smart kids and takes six years. (There's also Gymnasium, for the really smart kids, but not all high-schools have that division.)

You spent half of your time in 'general' classes. So for Mavo that would be the first two years. Then you get to specialize in a certain direction. It's called 'Tweede Fase' or 'Second Phase' and prepares students for whatever they want to do after high-school. So if someone wanted to become, say, a doctor, they would take courses such as Biology and Maths.

It's quite possible to move freely between Mavo, Havo and VWO, but it usually requires additional years, as the level is obviously more difficult. So if someone wanted to move from Mavo 3 to Havo, they'd be put in Havo 2 instead of Havo 3. If they want to go from Mavo to VWO they first have to go through Havo and then to VWO, so it takes them two extra years.

Which 'section' you graduate from - though you can graduate from all three, if you want. So a student who starts out in Mavo can later on graduate for Havo and VWO as well, if they have the strength and intelligence to - defines whether or not you can go to college, university, or someplace else. (Here college and university don't mean the same thing.)

People with a Mavo degree can go to MBO schools. People with a Havo degree can go to MBO schools and HBO colleges (hogescholen). People with a VWO degree can go to MBO schools, HBO schools and universities. These schools vary in which courses they offer, so the job opportunities vary depending on which you go to. MBO schools are the lowest and won't offer the best options. You can't become a doctor, for instance, with an MBO diploma. Not unless you go further and study more. Once again HBO is intermediate and Universities are highest.

I think it's a good system, as it allows pupils to develop on their own level. You won't be stuck in a class with people far below or far above you. It seems to work, as we have a high level of education when seen on a global scale, and it works for me. :)

I teach highschool students aged 11-16 and I would definitely do it again, as younger kids get on my nerves. XD

2)
Owww. It's that meme from a few days ago all over again. XD This answer usually alternates between my three favourite characters; Kenpachi, Mayuri and Byakuya. It really all depends on the day, because it changes at random. For example, today it's Byakuya. ^^

3)
I think it's probably Isane, with a bit of Momo in me as well. I'm not half as tall as Isane is, but I've felt just as awkward many times in my life. We're both a bit, well, awkward is just the perfect word for it. Yet at the same time I get really passionate about things I care about and want to become just as great as the people around me.

Momo's naiveness and trust in certain people is part of me as well, though. Feeling betrayed by a 'father-figure'? Been there, done that. Luckily I got over that and it changed for the better, so I hope the same can be said for her soon. :)

4)
Venice. Gorgeous place, full of history, culture and charming people. I loved it there, even with all the mosquitos. XD

Cambridge. Like Venice it's just full of history. I spent a couple of months there and made some great friends. I miss that time a lot.

Oxford. It was my first real trip on my own and it helped me become more confident. Though I was really young back then, I just loved the calm feel of the place.

My father's house in France. My dad used to live in France - long story - and he had a little cottage-like house in the south. (In a region nicknamed 'the Oven of France' because of the heat.) It was perfect. A little house on a hill, overlooking a valley, with an actual castle next to it and surrounded by fields with white cows. Such a serene place. My time spent there with just my dad and some very friendly French people was so very enjoyable.

Verona. So beautiful. I stayed there for two weeks with my dad and his girlfriend and it was one of the happiest times of my life. I hop countries occasionally, being lucky enough to live in Europe, but this was one instance where it really felt like a different world. Gorgeous views and a gorgeous country, with a city that has some of the loveliest architecture I have ever seen.

5)
RVD, Sabu, Shawn Michaels, Chris Jericho and Rhino.

RVD is just awesome. Though he has the tendency to be whimsical and somewhat out of his mind, we just agree on so many things. I've always joked that he's secretly Dutch, especially do to his ring-name of 'Van Dam'. He's a calm, mellow guy with interesting opinions and an inventive wrestling style.

Sabu is crazy. This whole fascination with him is crazy as well. XD I still don't understand why it happened, but along with watching RVD matches I got to know him as a wrestler and he's just awesome. His work is batshit insane, what with all the jumping through tables, wrestling in barbedwire, and ruining his body. (He's broken his beck twice! Twice! And continued wrestling two weeks after it happened, the stupid fucker. He's always injured.)

The pairing of those two together? It's still my ultimate OTP. If anyone were to ask me what my true OTP is, out of all my fandoms, it would be those two. They define OTPness, from a long history together to their friendship, caring, and amazing work together. GAH. If you're ever curious, let me know, because I could ramble about those two for days on end.

Shawn Michaels seems obvious to me. *snicker* While I'm not usually one for Born-Again Texans, his ringwork is just so phenomenal that I can't help but love the guy. I think his work and charisma makes him one of the best - of not the best - wrestler out there. Certainly today.

Chris Jericho is similar, in a way. Which isn't strange, as HBK inspired him. He makes an awesome heel and just has charisma to spare. I fell in love with him the moment I saw him. XD He actually got me into wrestling, as I was flipping channels and landed on the one where his blue eyes stared at the camera and I was lost instantly. He is just such a great guy. In interviews, in blogs, in whatever I see, he sounds like a nice, down-to-earth and intelligent guy who just happens to be a superstar and a rockstar.

Rhino is just a puppy. For such a large guy, he's just this soft teddy-bear. I always want to hug him when I see him. XD From his earlier days in the original ECW to his work now in TNA, I've always adored him. He's just adorable. *snicker* His friendship with Christian is lovely too. It's a shame they're not in the same company anymore.

Gaaah, that was a lot of talking.

And also by xushi:

Snog, Shag, Marry or Kill.

For the second meme, your choices are: Mayuri, Urahara, Gin, and Iba.

Marry

Urahara. Not because I like the guy, because I'm pretty 'meh' about him, but between Mayuri and Gin he's somewhat sane at least. Iba bores me and being married to him would no doubt in agony in the long run. At least Urahara has layers.

Shag.

Gin. He seems like the guy who would be awesome in bed. XD That and Mayuri would probably be awkwardly scientific about the whole deal, or include some of his latest experiments. So, ehm, no. Though I love you, crazy fucker. Gin is crazy too, but he seems the be more of a 'A wild night? Sure, let's have fun!' type of guy.

Snog.

Mayuri. Oh, his reaction would be fascinating. I bet he'd become enraged. *snickers at the thought* I have no doubt his tongue could do interesting things, though. (Is all of this TMI?)

Kill.

Iba. Sorry, hun, but I've always gone more for the crazy, tortured, out of their mind kind of guys. Compared to them you're just dull. *hangs head in shame*

From a list of four, name who you would: Snog, Shag, Marry or Throw Off a Cliff! If you want me to tag you, comment and I'll give you four.
