Less than 3 hours until it's a new year in my corner of the bedroom world! I probably shouldn't have waited until the last minute to get things done. I don't thrive under pressure, I wilt. XP
Fannish Year In Review
Your main fandom of the year?
It's probably a tie between JE/Johnny's Entertainment & Final Fantasy. I think I split the year pretty evenly between the two, focusing on dramas and such in the first half and then FF these past few months. I'd say that, on the whole, I'm pretty multi-fannish because I like to have my fingers in lots of pies-- though that means I often don't get more than a slice of the tasty goodness. (... this metaphor is making me hungry.)
Your favourite film watched this year?
Summer Time Machine Blues; it was clever and funny and reminded me a bit of classic Doctor Who in the time-travelling sense. The whole first half of the movie is filled with random things that you don't really pay attention to and then the second half takes all those little things and ties them together. It's just brilliant.
Your favourite book read this year?
I don't really have one and that's only because I read so little this year. D: I suuuuuck.
Your favourite album or song to listen to this year?
Album: FM S.H.E by S.H.E. (Most of the links in
this S.H.E/Fahrenheit pimping post should still be active...)
Your favourite TV show of the year?
Considering that I haven't watched it yet, this doesn't mean much but I'm just so thrilled that You're Beautiful exists. A wee beginner nun, who pretends to be her brother, who is the new member of a pop group, who falls in love with her bandmate. Korea loves me and wants me to be happy...
Your favourite LJ community of the year?
thesovereignty ♥ I love talking about the things I love and I get the chance to do that pretty much every day. I've met some great friends through it too!
Your best new fandom discovery of the year?
Korean television! While kdramas might not be good for my blood pressure (or bandwidth), there are some fantastic ones out there and I think I've only scratched the surface of what's available. I also get KBS World now and it's awesome catching CMs for dramas I've heard about or seeing a performance by an artist my friends like (I've seen SHINee perform Ring Ding Dong twice now).
Your biggest fandom disappointment of the year?
Dollhouse getting cancelled &, more generally, just some of the fannish reaction to it. I think it was just a great idea and I wish that Joss would've had more creative control (as much as certain parts of fandom would have hated him for it).
Your TV boyfriend of the year?
... any member of Arashi? They're on television. XD Or, well, Rick Castle-- if only because of
this.
Your TV girlfriend of the year?
Yomogi Riko from Ninkyo Helper, because she was awesome and it'd be advantageous to know someone in the yakuza. (Also, she's really, really hot.)
Your biggest squee moment of the year?
SEEEEEEENPAI! Chiaki-senpai! Nodame! ♥ The link goes to my post back in September when the trailer for the first Nodame Cantabile movie hit the interwebs. :D
The most missed of your old fandoms?
... I don't know. The nice thing about LJ is that fandoms are so fluid, you always meet the same people in a new fandom, you know? In theory, I miss Buffy the Vampire Slayer because I adore Alyson but I'm not really into HIMYM and I wish Joss and Eliza were both still actively employed. But, then again, there are things about the show that I don't really miss either.
The fandom you haven't tried yet but want to?
This is probably cheating because I've dipped my toes in the fandom before but I really hope to catch up on Smallville at some point-- if only the Chloe-loving portions of it. I watched the first season last year and I really liked Chloe a lot.
Your biggest fan anticipations for the New Year?
Gong Yoo's first drama post-discharge. The Winter 2010 jdrama season: Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge with Kame, Code Blue's second season, Saigo no Yakusoku with Arashi + Meisa! Final Fantasy XIII being released in North America.
