part 2: cleaning out my inbox

I had hoped to write this all up earlier this morning, but ... I kinda fell asleep. Um, ooops? (And I slept for ages, but I'm still tired. WTF?)

I only know Pink Martini's one song that was featured on Dead Like Me, but this review of a recent concert makes me want to check out more of their music.

Effects of the writers' strike are still being felt, and the consequences are both positive & negative. Pilots are actually benefiting from this new environment; with more fluid schedules, they can be reworked or even shot later than in past years.

This article from TIME looks at the effects the possible SAG strike is already having. (I fully supported the writers, but I have a less positive opinion of Alan Rosenberg & the way that SAG has been acting towards the AFTRA. I just don't want another TV season ruined. :/)

I've been wary about getting back into the whole Heroes fangirl thing, but I'm there. IGN talked to Adrian Pasdar & Masi Oka. I kinda ♥ Adrian, if it hasn't been obvious, so this was awesome to hear: 'It's gonna take more than two bullets to the chest to take me down.' Adrian & Masi also talk about the new action figures (Hiro keeps losing his head) and Masi compares Hiro's relationship to Brea Grant's new character as her 'be[ing] my Joker'.

I don't watch soaps much anymore so the name is lost on me but Leven Rambin, formerly of All My Children, has joined the cast of The Sarah Connor Chronicles.

IGN talked to Katee Sackhoff & Tricia Helfer. Tricia talks about filming the final episodes of Battlestar Galactica & Katee is a bit freaked out by fan porn. :P

And the quality of this picture of Katee & Tricia is baaaad but it still made me happy. Katee is all 'You're my BFF!' & Tricia is like 'Just get back on the bike'. :D :D

Variety thinks Drew Goddard is one of 10 screenwriters to watch.

Showtime got their biggest opening night for a new drama with Secret Diary of a Call Girl.

The third season of Prison Break will be coming out on DVD on August 12th.

Sophina Brown is joining the cast of Numb3rs. Her character on Shark was probably my favourite (for the whole handful of episodes I watched).

Dave Foley will be guest-starring on tomorrow night's episode of In Plain Sight.

And, finally, lots of people are saying nice things about The Middleman! The Tampa Tribune calls it a guilty pleasure. Matt Roush of TV Guide says it's a pleasant summer surprise. An Indiana newspaper thinks the Middleman is a superhero with a smile. The Boston Herald says it bridges the gap between 'Batman' generations. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette thinks the show offers fun family entertainment.

Matt Keeslar did an interview with the Deadbolt. And MediaBlvd has a pretty extensive article about Brit Morgan, the actress who plays Lacey.

Can you tell that I'm loving this show? :D :D :D I need to write a proper review, but seriously. This show is Men in Black + Wonderfalls/Dead Like Me. ♥
