Loved your Friday Five. I sometimes forget that French is an official language of Canada. There are some areas there where people exclusively speak French which I consider exotic. You know a lot of languages and that is the norm of folks outside of the United States. We take false pride in knowing only English. While I'm by no means a globalist, we do interact with other nations and should not be so isolationist in refusing to learn other languages.
Icelandic! I did not even know that was a language, so excuse my ignorance. I bet that would be a hard one to learn. I am so impressed with your multi-lingual talents. I don't meet multi-lingual people in the U.S. although some of us are bi-lingual (I also speak Spanish).
Going to Iceland was never a blip in my consciousness because I'm not familiar with it. I just asked my husband what is the attraction in Iceland. He gave me a lesson on its beautiful geography. He said for that alone it's worth visiting.
Thanks for this great post! I'll post my Friday Five too.

I got lucky on the languages. French was mandatory at school and I knew I wanted to work for the government so I did a double major with French in university. I was paid to learn Portuguese and Spanish because they were required for my work. I'm pretty good at learning languages, so I worked hard at them while I lived in Brazil and El Salvador. I only wish I had worked better at German. It's the one I really need for my hobby life and I'm terrible at it.
I have wanted to go to Iceland since I was little. It seems like I'm the only one of my friends who hasn't yet managed to get there.
Honestly, all three were needed for work. I am lucky that I have a good ear for languages. Sadly, I don't have much discipline (which is why I have terrible German - I only ever tried to learn it for fun).
I really want to go to Eastern Europe. So many of those places were off-limits when I was a kid during the Cold War. Places like Prague and Budapest are beautiful.
