I got stung by a yellowjacket (which I just learned is part of the wasp family) at about 11:30 this morning and now, eleven hours later, the damn thing hasn't stopped hurting. I don't get it, the last time I got stung by a bee it hurt for about five minutes and then I got on with my day. Maybe I'm developing an allergy. I hear it's something

Yup, after twelve to thirteen hours of pain I moved onto rampant itching, which was soon joined by swelling. My left forearm is about as twice as wide as normal, not to mention red and still itchy. Safe to say I've developed an allergy, heading down that dark road of death and epipens.

As for the lameness of the Wasp, if you're ever in the mood for a full-blown feminist comic rant you let me know, because I could go on for awhile. I'll just shorten it way down to: the 60's comics were not a good place for female empowerment, and Wonder Woman, created to be a strong, female role model, has been appropriated by horny teenage boys. Okay, I'll take all my angry wants-to-rant energy and go back to creating my empowered, cross-dressing superherione, whose outfit would not require regular Bazilian waxes.

That superhero religion site was awesome. I hope you're cool with Abby being Jewish. Not like I ever plan to focus on it, but that's how I think of her.

That's an awesome idea about Vera. I'm doing research to, but not enough, I've been doing more research in reading comic books, but I have a couple books on gypsies checked out. I hope to make some actualy progress on them this weekend. And my shaolin book has finally been shipped, so can't wait to start on that one.

Sorry about the sting- that sucks hard. I'm down with abby being jewish - somehow i'd already figured that was what was happening. I love the whole superhero's have religon thing, it seems so..i dunno...normalized. and funny. Sweet, i can't wait to get a whole issue under our belt - and wow, what an issue :)

Yeah, sorry I've been kinda lagging lately. I've been reading comics non-stop, but haven't been writing much. I suck creatively when I'm in turmoil (kind of the opposite of the stereotype, I have to have inner peace in order to create) and I've been freaking out about being homeless and unemployed lately. Things should be settling down, and then I'll be hoping back on that creative train and actually writing le issue.
