goals and ideals

I start my new job tomorrow! I already have my outfit planned, weather permitting. Curse you weather - be consistent for once!

This year has been pretty awesome for meeting various life goals. Some have been realistic, some a little shameful, some just to make me feel good. Here's what I have 'achieved' this year:

• Got my first 'real job' outside of retail
• Went back to uni to study postgrad
• Met Paolo and started my first long-term relationship, which is going strong
• Scored a job in publishing at one of the largest publisher's in Australia
• Bought a new car

I have a few minor goals for the remainder of the year. They are to pass my final semester, get my full license, start saving again and start walking regularly again as well as eating healthier.

I've been trying to think what my next big goal will be. For a while it has been to get a job in publishing and as of tomorrow, that goal will be a success. I think my next big aim is to move out of home. First I would like to save $10 000 and be earning $40 000/year. According to my contract my salary will be reassessed in March so I think this is an achievable goal in the next 12-18 months. In a fantasy, I'd like to move into my own place with Paolo but that's not realistic for a while. I figure it's better to plan that I'll be flatsharing and then take it from there.
