There is the most peculiar noise wafting up the street, over rooftops and into my house at the moment. I think it is someone hosing their driveway with a high-powered hose, but it also sounds like an enormous, sizzling electric charge. Or even a giant hissing bird. Whatever it is, it's starting to get on my nerves. I mean, really, do you need to hose your concrete? It isn't going to grow lovely little concrete flowers if you do so, and in today's climate you should know better than to waste water like that. On the other hand, if it's either the electricity or giant bird then I think one of my neighbours is plotting world domination through unusual means. Maybe I should call that Terror Alert hotline. "I think my neighbours have bred a mutant hissing bird and are plotting to overthrow the government with it."
Or maybe someone is welding something?
The boys aren't talking to me this morning because I put their flea/worm stuff on them. It's the tiniest little tube of liquid which you squirt onto the skin on the back of their necks, but the way they act you'd think I was drowning them. The second a drop of that stuff touches them they buck like they're being electrocuted. Tom has the most amazing ability to latch onto practically anything and it's virtually impossible to pry him off again, which is quite a feat considering how scrawny he is. I just sit on Tux and giggle as he tries to smoosh himself out from under my legs.
I need to put the flyscreen back in the kitchen window from where I locked myself out of the house. I hate dealing with flyscreens, they're always easier to take out than they are to put in.
Argh I should stop procrastinating. I need to get into Penrith to get my credit card before work. Mum also showed me a website that compares travel insurance and if I use them I can get decent cover for $490.
