So I'm sitting in my car right now waiting for the traffic to clear. I just exitted Sprint Center after seeing Roger Waters The Wall. Originally I hadn't planned on coming to this show. The tickets were very expensive and I was already going to the Muse show in October. But when Muse cancelled on me I needed something to fill in the empty spaces, to use a phrase from a song. ;-) it's funny how life works sometimes because I'm really glad that I didn't miss this. I had forgotten just how important thi album was to the teenaged Lea Ann. I hadn't listened to this album in at least 20 years so last week I downloaded it. I remembered every word like it was only yesterday. The show was outstanding. Just like I remembered hearing about when I was a kid. For the whole first half, a wall was built brick by brick, completely obscuring the band. All the original, stunning, disturbing Gerald Scarfe animations were there along with some newer 3d digital stuff. Even from the upper balcony and askew of the stage I was still drawn into the show and Roger Waters was a great showman. Best of all, I think I found a little bit of my young self that I'd lost when I became jaded and old. It's funny how things just happen. My motto remains true... life is so strange when you don't know your destination.
