Okay so I had to order the shoes one size smaller, they are on their way from Des Moines as I write this. Woo hoo! The larger size fit my best friend perfectly so I said I would get her them for her birthday which is in July but I still had to send them back because one of the seams ripped open a tiny bit the first time I tried them on. Those will take a little longer to turn around.

I keep having nightmares lately. Last Thursday I went to the ballet, Romeo and Juliet, with Rita and Lauren. We went downtown early so we could eat at the Power and Light district http://www.visitkc.com/visitor_info/whats_new/index.cfm?page=kc_live.htm. Famous Dave's Barbecue. Yum. The only problem is, some of the most exciting weather yet this spring was happening that night. Even as we were walking up to the theater, the tornado sirens were going off in the next county over. We only stayed for the first two acts, it was really long and we all decided before we went that we'd leave early. Just as the act that we were going to leave after was coming to a close, Rita and I looked at each other....was that the sirens again or just an oboe? It was the sirens. When we got outside the weather wasn't as exciting as all that but it was obvious it had been raining hard. There was still a lot of lightning around. In fact at one point we were at a stoplight and directly in front of us the most amazing lightning bolt I'd ever seen occurred. Three deadly prongs leaping UPWARD from the horizon. We all screamed in amazement. It was cool. Anyway, so when I got home I checked the weather. My basement and garage had enough water in them I was hoping it was over. The watches and warnings were set to expire at 1 AM and there was nothing moving toward us on the radar. I went to sleep. At about 2 AM something roused me from my sleep. It was raining harder than I'd ever heard and seen it rain before in my life. DAMMIT! I pulled myself out of bed and turned on the tv in my office to see what was going on. There was an impressively large squall line with a major bow in it, indicating wicked straight line winds. I looked outside...not a breath. If there was wind it happened before I woke. I went back to bed as the worst seemed to be over. On my first REM cycle after falling back to sleep I had a horrible nightmare that ended with me and Rita coming out of Crown Center just as a crazy cab driver was coming down the street. A construction worker got in his truck and wrecked into the cab to keep him from going further. The cabbie came out of his car walking like a zombie and brandishing a large knife. He focussed on me and Rita and we started to run but of course this turned into the classic running away from a murder nightmare where you can't seem to make your feet move. Just as the zombie cabbie from hell raised the knife over us, the most amazingly loud explosion of thunder happened and I woke up with my heart beating so hard I was seriously worried. Holy crap. Anyway, I also had a similar nightmare last night that I can't remember. That night there were tornadoes in the north part of town that destroyed a few houses. I really do need to get myself a weather radio....I've been meaning to do it for years.
