It's raining. *sigh*
Australia. Land of extremes. Last week we were sweltering in 40+ deg C temperatures. This week we're back to cold winds with bucketing rain. And with the rain, I have washing piling up in the laundry like you wouldn't believe. *sigh*
If I could send this weather to Victoria where they still so badly need it, I surely would, because I am SO OVER IT already!
Mitch is settling in well to Year 6, his last year at primary school. Yesterday, they had to write down their goals for the year and I laughed myself silly when I read his - among some wonderful things like 'Improve my grades' and 'Make State Champs for Athletics' was this little gem: 'Last the year WITHOUT getting an Orange Slip.' LOLOLOLOL. Bless his little cotton socks. *g*
Harry is growing up too - we noticed how much taller he's getting - and told him so. For the entire weekend, he kept on saying 'I'm getting bigger?' and would grin every time when we'd nod, lol. He's going to be 9 this year and I can't quite believe it. Compared to the hard yards we did during the diagnostic phase of his autism, he has travelled a long way from the boy he was. I feel so very proud of him. :)
And because I'm an equal opportunity parent, can't leave this post without mentioning my eldest son, Nick. He's doing well since splitting from Amey. In fact, I think I can say that he is pretty much back to his normal happy self and not looking back. (And thank God for that, his mother says, lol.)
As the weather was so crappy, we had an 'inside' weekend last weekend. I took the opportunity to finally start watching S3 Dexter. Oh my! *grins* Michael C. Hall? Genius. Brilliant actor. Plus I see he executive co-produced a lot of these eps too. This season is so, so good and that's after only the first two episodes, lol. Man, I love this show! *downloading more as I type*
And just randomly? Having hot cross buns in the shops for a month already seems like a cruel tease for a lover of them like me. Trying SO hard not to eat too many!
