Squamish can suck for work sometimes. And if you haven't already (even if it's not what you're looking for), may I suggest that you apply at coffee shops? Even if you don't plan on staying there long, and sure, it's entry level, but training programs at places like Starbucks look really good on resumes, because they're so strict about it. I've heard many times in the city that having Starbucks, McDonalds, and Tim Hortons on your resume is always good, because of the training programs and amount of people you see to during a shift.
It's not the most perfect job, but it does look good.

Thanks for your advice, Julia, it is appreciated. I was starting to think about applying to these sorts of places, based on your advice, when I got three job offers and another interview offer, all in a row. (Muff is right, she told me "when it rains, it pours."
So, anyway, I am working at the Inn on the Water in Squamish now. You probably know it, it's on Logger's lane, just off the highway 99. When you come to Squamish, you should come over one afternoon and I'll give you a tour, and then we'll cross the highway for Starbucks or something. =)
