Denial is the Serpent
That coils in its lair
Madness is its poison
And hatred is its fare

Envy is the eater
Whose hunger never ends
Avarice its master
And prejudice its bent

Vanity the taker
Steals away the heart
Opens up the anger
And makes pride its art

Shame is the witherer
That breaks the soul
Pride feeds its violence
Leaves only indolence whole
