On the road again...
Spent the night last night with friends in Connecticut. Today, we skipped Cooperstown on an impulse, and then heard 3 hours later that every road in the county was under water due to flash floods. The Mohawk River is 13' above flood stage. WOW. We pushed on through some heavy rain and are spending the night in Niagara Falls. Tomorrow we take the Maid of the Mist and eat lunch atop the Observation Tower on the Canadian side. We'll tour a few other things as well. We stopped by the 'Clarence' Travel Plaza for a pit stop and ended up booking our room and tour in advance. Cool, huh? Tonight, it's the Red Sox/Mets on the internet. The Blue Jays are actually play the Nats a few miles away at the Rogers Center, but we're going to stick with delivery from David's Hoagies. The car is doing 46 mpg - mostly due to climbing the Berkshires. Once we get into flat land, we'll be topping 55mpg. Only bought gas once so far. Not bad considering it's fully loaded. Plenty of HP's. Having a good time. Wish you were here.
